Loose drain cover, 3rd September
Seen a couple of possible accidents here recently - there is a drain cover on the northwest side of the A5086, just southwest of the junction to Dean (also signposted 'The Royal Yew") that seems to come loose. Today when I stopped the cover was sitting upright, at an angle of around 45 degrees, with the drain open, and a car had I think just driven through it and suffered a puncture. I stopped and replaced the drain cover so it was sitting flat, but I fear it may be loose and resent a continuing danger.

Build up of roadside litter, 15th March
The A5086 is starting to get a heavy build up of several years of litter along it. Particularly bad on a narrow stretch of road before Blackbeck bridge before the Mockerkin Tarn turnoff (from Cockermouth) Also bad further along towards Lamplugh turn off and in the layby afterwards (rightside). This road is no doubt affected by the heavy Sellifield Traffic, it would be great if you could get someone to start tackling it. I do what I can myself. Thanks again!
