For a couple of weeks, a manhole cover around a patched section of the westbound carriageway appears to have worked loose, creating a loud bang whenever a vehicle drives over it. This is keeping local residents awake, so I hope you will be able to rectify it.

Noise reducing fencing required, 25th January

Tue, 25 Jan 2022 18:17:56 +0000
54.605476 -3.188849

On this section of road a feeder lane running next to the A66 provides access to houses. Along much of this run there is a fence to reduce noise and provide a barrier to the A66. However, for approximately 50m between the turning into Braithwaite next to the Middle Rudding Inn, there is no fence. Please can the existing fence be extended down to this junction with noise reducing fencing. It is a very small job but would make a significant difference to residence living there. The current Hedge can remain and should stay as a wildlife habitat, but a fence could simply run alongside it on the A66 side. I would be very grateful if this could be considered and would ask that I be contacted on 07505364123 to discuss or for further details. Many thanks. Carl Bradford

Sudden end of margin eastbound, 31st December

Thu, 31 Dec 2020 23:43:23 +0000
54.608142 -3.189657

The part of road to the left of the white line comes to a sudden end. This is dangerous to cyclists who are suddenly forced into the main carriageway. It would be more appropriate to gradually bring the edge in towards the road rather than an abrupt end point. I raise this as an incident occurred a few days ago
