Fixed barriers closing lane 1 barely visible in dark, 24th February
There are lots of roadworks and lane 1 is mostly closed off with a mixture of cones with lights on and intermittently a fixed steel barrier which is dark grey in colour. The barriers are very dirty and the fluorescent strips are no longer visible. At the end of the cones (at dusk and in dark) it appears as though the roadworks have finished and filtering back into lane 1 is an option. The fixed barriers are barely visible as the colour of them blends into the road. They need a wash. There are at least 4 separate stretches of these barriers which are barely visible between these junctions. Please give them a jet wash or something, perhaps stick some lights on them.

New road surface is a disgrace., 4th September
The road has been resurfaced for the second time in six months and this time is worse than the first. There are loose stones all over the road which are highly dangerous to users and lethal to motorcyclists, there is a cloud of dust every time a vehicle passes, all our cars on our properties are covered with a layer of dust as are our property windows and yards. There are stones all over the pavements but the worst issue is the new surface is rippled and terrible to drive on. The road should be tarmacked properly.

Choking clouds of dust causing potential health issue, 3rd September
Following the second resurfacing of the A6 through the village of Clifton we have been left with unacceptable and worrying levels of air pollution ). The final sealing road surface is not due until next week, leaving us prisoners in our own home. We cannot walk along the pavements to take our dog out when vehicles are passing due to the choking clouds of thick dust. Several neighbours have also reported sore throats and coughing fits, whilst inside. We can’t open any windows and our house and garden are caked in layers of dust which, if it rains, will ruin our recently decorated painted render turning the dry dust to rivers of dirt.
The village urgently needs road sweepers and tankers to continually settle the dust over the weekend before someone with asthma or respiratory conditions has a serious health issue.
Please respond ASAP.

Large Potholes in road and drainage problem., 5th February
The whole road from Melkinthorpe end through to the first corner on Tewfittmire Lane has severe flooding issues the drainage system is not working at all causing the whole road to be like a river. This has been total ice over the past month or so it is only a matter of time till there is an accident. There are several Large pot holes. There has been a Traffic cone put in the road over the largest. I have reported this problem before the potholes where filled but the pot holes are back already. Nothing at all has been done to try and solve the flooding issue which is as big a problem as the potholes if not bigger.
