FIXMYSTREET IN CT7 0PW
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of CT7 0PW:
Discarded rubbish, 29th March
Dear Sir. when driving the length of the A299, rubbish discarded from vehicles, such as plastic bags and paper is strewn the almost 20 mile length of the A299 from Brenley Corner roundabout to the St Nickolas at Wade roundabout. This is a blight on our countryside and needs clearing up. I understand that the Environmental Protection Act requires Highways England and local Councils to clear this rubbish on Motorways and Major Trunks roads, which includes the A299 in Kent, within 7days after being reported. I understand that the Covid pandemic does not void Highways England and local Councils obligation to carry out this work. I therefore formerly request that this is acted on.

Dangerous blind junction requires give way at both convergences, 5th December
Building work in summer road and Down Barton Road has made this blind junction extremally busy, despite edging out extremally slowly, traffic traveling up hill past the blind junction with Summer road are not slowing I personally have had 4 near misses and my wife 2 in the 12 months we have lived here despite purchasing a convex mirror and affixing it to an adjacent telegraph pole the sheer speed of delivery drivers and builders flat beds means serious injury or worse can be expected to passengers in vehicles exiting summer road very soon if this is not addressed by making both convergences give way just like rabbit hole lane

Dangerous level of builder's mud on road, 19th February
The builder working on St Mar Magdalene Church is denying responsibility for deliveries to the site causing mud on the public highway. So far the mud has caused my car to skid and cyclists to skid risking injury. The street is overshadowed by woods and trees, is on the Viking Way and is used by persons walking back from the bus stop on the A253. I reported the matter to the HSE as no banksmen are being used on site, but the builder has goaded me that nothing has been done about the site and its blaming the damage to the road banks on a 'foreign lorry driver' despite me seeing the lorries deliver to the site from both the from and back of my house.

Repeated dog fouling, 9th December
I have reported in the past about continuous dog fouling in the alleyway and footpath area by the bungalows in Wantsum Court. I requested that some metal signs be erected on the lamp posts in that area, but to date, nothing has changed. A couple of days ago I helped clear up a huge pile of dog faeces directly outside one of the elderly residents gates, which is not only disgusting, but shouldn't be happening. What is going to be done about this issue ?

Regular dog fouling along alleyway and outside of elderly residents bungalows, 5th February
Over the last few months, there has been continual dog fouling present in the alleyway opposite St Nicholas church which continues past elderly residents properties along to Bridges Close. This is also a route used by school children on their way to the primary school. It has gotten so bad lately that it's difficult to walk that route and the local residents are all angered by this disregard of the law and lack of consideration to those that live here. Many residents are now wanting dog fouling penalty signs erected on the lamp posts in that area to remind those whom break the law that they will ultimately pay for this antisocial behaviour.
