Parking on pavement over double yellow lines, 3rd February
An increasing number of people are parking on the double yellow lines the whole way up the street. It makes it very hard to walk past, and when a space is available to park legally, it’s often not possible to park as the illegal cars are blocking the ability to turn into the space.

Brambles causing damage to private fencing, 12th October
Behind my back garden fence, there is a private right away parallel to Thanet Way. Brambles and other strong plants have been left overgrown over the years, and part of the fence caved in and hung over the pathway, making its use dangerous and difficult. There was some temporary remedial work to stop that part of the fence from collapsing and somewhat secure it, paid by residents. I, personally, tried cutting down this summer (following the advice of the council) the overflowing branches, but I had as a result urticaria, a skin reaction that lasted weeks, and it still didn't make a difference. In addition, the dense jungle of brambles, stinging nettles, and even small trees is now causing further damage to the fence and could be the cause of vermin and dangerous if caught on fire. The brambles are also heavily overflowing to the pavement below by the road, making it dangerous for passersby too.

Dangerous parking, 27th September
Cars parked both sides, mounting the pavement so pavement can’t even be used. We have to walk on the road with children and pram to and from school and nursery. Cars entering the junction can’t even see that we’re on the road because the cars are parked right up to the junction so can’t see what’s coming.
This is getting really dangerous, I’ve had two close calls.

Uneven pavements, 8th May
I walk to the town regularly as I have sight impairment and I have tripped, fallen, and got my white stick caught, in the uneven and treacherous pavements that line the way from my flat in Canterbury road, through Oxford street and along the high street. The state of these paths beggars belief and my white cane is actually bent where it’s always getting caught in the cracks and holes, even though my cane has a ball on the end of it!! I feel I’m running the gauntlet every time I leave my flat and the pavements have now been like this for years! I have enclosed a few photos but there are many, many more and they are dangerous, especially to the elderly and disabled. Something needs to be done, now!
