Severe uneven stretch of road, 12th October

Mon, 12 Oct 2020 13:33:42 +0100
53.917102 -2.949016

There is a severe uneven stretch of road on Lancaster Road which is worse on the journey from Head Dyke Lane and intermittently up to the Preesall Garage 4x4 Specialist. This is in a bad state of repair now and will only get worse throughout the winter. Please can this stretch of road be re-surfaced asap. I understand it was due to be done but then wasn't. Kind Regards x

Dozens and dozens of potholes from the 4x4 garage to head dyke lane., 28th July

53.917513 -2.955042

This section of road is an absolute disgrace. I'm amazed no cyclist has been killed here, or at least badly injured. If you're daft enough to drive in your lane, rather than down the middle of the road, it's definitely harming your car. Why have any councillors who must sometimes used this road not had the problem addressed, it's critical.

More repairs than surface, 26th February

This section of road is so bad that I have driven down unmade roads that are better. The road is so desperately bad it is going to cause accidents. Braking is ineffective as there is no grip. There are no warning signs to allow those not resident to be cautious. Everybody drives down the centre of the road to avoid the worst of the uneven surface.

Large deep pothole on Hallgate Lane close to junction. Entire road in poor state., 16th January

Thu, 16 Jan 2020 14:39:03 +0000

I do not know how long this pothole has been in existence. I hit this pothole at slow speed on 16th January around 6pm. It was dark. As a result I have had to replace both offside tyres on my Mercedes. Both completely damaged. Sensors came on immediately both tyres completely flat within metres of hitting the hole.

Pavement surface completely disintegrated full length of Stricklands lane between back lane and moss side lane., 28th October

Mon, 28 Oct 2019 09:08:39 +0000
53.896611 -2.949568

Recent flooding has had most of this already poor condition pavement under water, and people use it to drive onto to avoid flooding, so now it has collapsed and the surface has washed away making it extremely dangerous. I have tripped on it this morning walking my daughter to school and it is a busy walking route along the A588. Pavement on the other side isn’t usable all the way along due to overgrown hedges.

Potholes - many pot holes, 12th February

Mon, 12 Feb 2018 22:07:36 +0000
53.917535 -2.952864

I head over to preesall only once per week and at the weekend I noticed that the stretch of road between the A588 and just past Sunnyside corner on Lancaster road has an unjust amount of pot holes. This road is mostly national speed limit and is only wide enough for 2 vehicles, so for the unsuspecting driver there is no way to avoid these ever increasing and enlarging pot holes. This will also be cause for concern for cyclists who undoubtedly have to move to the center of the road to avoid being thrown off or get a puncture. Again....this is a national speed limit area. The consequences don't look pretty.
