FIXMYSTREET IN BA12 6PJ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of BA12 6PJ:
Large Potholes both sides of the lane, 12th June
These potholes have been here for over 2 years and are continually being filled. This 300m - 400m section of Bells Lane was supposed to be completely resurfaced in August 2022 but was never done. The vibrations now caused by large vehicles racing up the lane is causing houses to shake (mine included). The problem is that the lane was never built to cope with the quantity of traffic and the size of vehicles (large trailer trucks and large farm machinery) so any repairs done simply get destroyed in the space of weeks. The lane needs to be properly resurfaced and traffic calming scheme ASAP.
There are numerous other potholes along this stretch as well that need repairing properly.

‘Countdown single chevron sign has been knocked over, 20th January
Of the three countdown to exit signs on the Eastbound exit for Mere the final single chevron sign has evidently been knocked over and is no longer visible. This is a notoriously unsafe junction as drivers often misjudge their speed and the abrupt left turn catches some driver out.

Missing 3 chevron ‘count-down’ sign on A303, 11th March
Approaching the exit near Mere to join the B3092 travelling eastbound there is no “3” chevron countdown marker to indicate that you are approaching the exit. There is only a 2- chevron and then a 1 - chevron marker. This can lead to drivers not reducing their speed in good time to negotiate what is a sharp and sudden 90 degree exit. I have witnessed drivers braking hard and colliding with the exit island.

An unmarked and overgrown ditch presents a hazard to road users., 4th October
An overgrown and unmarked ditch is located on the south side of this highway, which presents a hazard to road users.
I encountered the pictured car with a lady stuck in her seat and managed to arrange recovery locally and without damage.
I think reflective, flexible markers would make this much less of a hazard.

Disintegrating slip road on B3092 to A303 westbound slip road, 16th January
The slip road onto the A303 westbound from the B3092 at Mere is disintegrating with the road surface now badly broken with deep ruts and numerous pot holes. I have only been travelling on this road for a short while but it does make access to the dual carriageway tricky with stones flying up from under wheels.

County gateway sign missing, 25th March
It is very noticeable as you drive along the A303 that as you leave either Somerset or Wiltshire and pass into the county of Dorset, no signage indicating the change of county is provided. If Somerset and Wiltshire can put signage there, why can't Dorset?
