Various Potholes on this stretch, 12th February
The A577 is used regularly when the M58 to the Orrell interchange is closed. HGV use this route and it shakes the house banging down the potholes . The A577 through Upholland is potholed all the way to Stannanought Road and is worn out and severely cracked up. The road has been breaking up before winter and frost which is obviously making things a lot worse. Unfortunately the way the potholes are currently fixed, ie dropping tarmac in, patting it down with no preparation or sealant it’s no wonder the repairs never last. Is there any plan to resurface this stretch anytime soon? Thanks

15 inch pot hole directly opposite 112 Ormskirk Road UpHolland WN8 0AR, 2nd January
Large pot hole approximately 15 by 15 inches, very deep, enough to unseat a bike rider. (Already damaged several cars) It's getting bigger daily.

Car being abandoned, 14th December
This car has been here for over a month and now has got a sticker on from the highway. The window screen at the front is being smashed and it is blocking people's view from accessing the road at the bottom. Hopefully you can remove this vehicle before there is an accident. As you can see from the photos, people are now walking on the main road to get past.

Cars parked on double yellows blocking driveway, 2nd December
Hard to get cars in and out of the driveway opposite these parked cars and sometimes can’t get in at all. this has been happening since moving to the house 5 years ago.

Road surface badly de-teriorated, 8th May
At the junction of A577 Ormskirk Road and Newgate Road, the condition of the road surface is in a very poor condition due to lack of maintenance, With A577 Ormskirk Road, being a major road regular maintenance should have been carried out , this as not happened .

Foot paths in very poor condition throughout the estate, 8th May
The footpaths throughout the estate are in very poor condition, Pedestrians walk in the road to avoid tripping hazards. " years ago the roads were re-surfaced and I asked when the footpaths would be re-surfaced and LCC said they were in acceptable standards. The Footpaths were Spray re-surfaced over 20 years ago and have not been maintained since

Hedges so overgrown they block the footpath, 19th June
The hedge is overgrown and is now blocking the footpath causing people to walk in the road. This is an ongoing issue as when it does get cut it is then left again until it covers the footpath and someone complains.

Very poor and dangerous road surface on Grove Rd, Upholland, 3rd March
The road surface is very poor for approximately 150 meters along Grove Rd and continuing onto Parliament Street. Vehicles swerve and drive irrationally to avoid large deteriorating potholes, large puddles form in the potholes and ruts in wet weather and both water and stones are thrown onto the pavements. The whole road need s resurfacing to avoid serious accidents happening.

Netting placed over live birds under the motorway bridge, 21st September
The new netting put up by your contractors has trapped live birds again. This has now been reported by an MP, a local councillor, the Wigan Observer. Your contractors place so called escape funnels in the netting but live birds are caught and suffering. It is illegal to cause undue suffering as confirmed by Greater Manchester Police. Councillor Michael Winstanley has requested that the netting be removed and replaced with another deterrent, e.g. spikes. How many days do you think animals can survive without food or water? I am thoroughly disgusted by this ongoing saga. Sarah Keenan

Outside bulb needs changing, 5th November
This lamp has not work for about three weeks, the area is in total darkness at night causing attempt burglary on two separate occasion. The lamp is situated on a outside wall of 186 Ennerdale Tanhouse Skelmersdale.
