FIXMYSTREET IN WF17 0PJ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of WF17 0PJ:
Inadequate notification of road closure, 21st March
The Southbound A62 at the location on the map is closed with a long diversion in place. From the M62 Westbound there is no notification of this, the dotmatrix signs are showing the times and distances to the next couple of junctions which isn't helpful. The signage should be showing information that the A62 Southbound is closed at Junction 27. The current diversion is to leave the M62 at jnc 27 then divert around a roundabout or two on the A62 and then back onto the motorway at jnc 27 westbound. Down to junc 26 and then back again eastbound to 27 and access the A62.

Central reservation drainage gutters are clogged with debris, 26th July
For several miles of carriageway between M62 jct 26 and jtn 28 in both directions. The concrete drainage gulleys in the central reservation are clogged with multiple piles of road dust and debris. Some piles of dirt more than 40cm high and several metres across now growing weeds. In wet weather the drains are too clogged to cope with water runoff. Causing large puddles to overflow into the fast lane in both directions. A danger to traffic. These gulleys require urgent cleaning.

Blocked Drains, 3rd July
The central reservation drains are blocked. Full of soil , traffic cones and other items that have come to rest in the central reservation. These drains need cleaning out and vegetation removing. It is dangerous when raining as the road is not draining off correctly and will cause aqua plaining. This is along a long stretch of the M62 between Leeds and Huddersfield in both directions.

It says this is a 50 but the M62 is a 70 but there are no signs to update you, 21st April
I think the 50 signs have been left out from roadworks when the M62 had roadworks here but they are gone from the M62 bit and is now a 70 but the bit before as the M621 joins still says 50 so you join a 70 carriageway still thinking it’s 50 when everyone on it is doing 70 (the matrix signs above used to say national speed limit but haven’t been on recently

M62 approx Leeds, 15th November
Driving around Leeds m62 headed to Grimsby. Using sat nav alerted to average speed check zone. None of the lights on the gantry were illuminated apart from number 4 which had a half circle of lights no speed shown. My phone alerted I was above the speed when under the speed limit no other cars were slowing down. Next gantry had all illuminated to 50mph. Suggesting intial gantry is faulty

Tradmffic lighting system not managing the traffic. The lights were green for 4 seconds only and red for 35 secondsc. On green, 11th November
On the 9th Nov at 5.45pm I left the m606 onto the slip road leading to chain bar rundabout. The traffic was backed up for 1 hour grid locked all the way around chain bar round .about. this is the 3rd time I have been held up on this slip road this month. I only travel across it a few times per month. Therefore I believe this is a regular occurance due to the extent of a problem I have been involved in over the last month. The lighting system on this roundabout is not set up sufficiently to cope with the traffic volume. Cars go through red lights and block the oncoming traffic off the motor. The lights are only on green for 3csecs then red for over 30 secs leaving the m606 to enter chain bar round about. This backs up onto the slip road of every direction ie. From Halifax, from Birkenshaw, from low moor and off the m62 onto chain bar interchange. I was sat an hour on the slip road of the m606 trying to head across the roundabout to gain access to Drub Lane to visit my elderly father. Can you advise what if anything is going to be done about this grid lock situation? If an emergency vehicle would have needed access they would not have got through the grid locked traffic. This is dangerous as cats that couldn't wait as long as I did were then trying to exit the queue on the m60 exit slip road trying to enter the m62 entrance slip road. There were several near misses at the traffic exiting m606vwere travelling at speed, and having to brake hard or swerve cars. Also cars are not queuing in the A58 lane, they are bypassing the que in the m62 lane and then blocking the roundabout further so cars wanting to go onto the m62 heading towards leeds cant access it. This then backs up all round the round about. Can you advise further what will be addressed to resolve this issue as it is dangerous and putting drivers at risk especially in bad weather as we have experienced recently with heavy rain. Thank you Pauline
