Blocked drain Northbound A244 in the central reservation opposite road sign 026, 14th April

Sun, 14 Apr 2024 19:01:12 +0100

The drain in the Northbound carriageway of the A244 north of Charlton Lane opposite road sign 026 is blocked. This drain has a manhole cover next to it. Whenever there is anything more than a shower the carriageway floods to a degree that vehicles cannot safely use the marked lane and a force to use the marked hatched area and the bicycle lane. This has been an ongoing problem for well over six months.

White lines erased junction manor road and bridge street, 12th April

Fri, 12 Apr 2024 15:54:14 +0100
51.389955 -0.42543

Vehicles joining bridge street from manor road cannot see any white give way signs as the existing lines have been completely worn away, Many cars on manor road believe they have a through road onto bridge street and don’t bother to stop at the junction, Of course traffic already on bridge street approaching the corner where manor road joins, suddenly find cars travelling fast from manor road. Vehicles on manor road cannot see existing vehicles on bridge street, but believing they have right of way drive straight out into existing bridge street traffic. An accident is imminent

Outside 11 & 13 old Charlton road, 11th April

Thu, 11 Apr 2024 08:33:08 +0100
51.396839 -0.448783

Pathment uneven when raining water collects over the whole area and pedestrians are forced to walk in the road or cross the road. In extreme rainfall water then flows into the property of 11 & 13 causing excessive water to flow toward the properties. The path needs to be levelled so it stops the water flowing into the 2 properties and directs water back to the road side and drainage system. This is not the first time it has been reported and nothing has been done!

Pot holes outside my property. Very nosey when cars come long, 2nd April

Tue, 02 Apr 2024 16:10:32 +0100
51.396724 -0.448273

The Pothole were much smaller when I left 2 months ago. What appears to happen in one of the cases is that the contractor comes and fills a hole but leaves a little infilled which then gets bigger and bigger. Would it not be sensible to fill all holes close to one another rather than letting them get bigger and bigger so some one has to return to fill these bigger holes. If the work was checked the filling may last longer.

High speed cyclists and moped riders on pavement, 29th March

Fri, 29 Mar 2024 16:50:52 +0000
51.404443 -0.417117

There is no "street" connection between Anvil Road (actually Forge Lane, which is an extension of Anvil Road) and Martingale Close, so cars cannot pass through. There is a pavement, thanks to which pedestrians can take a shortcut to Green Street, where is a bus stop, which is very convenient for residents of this side of Lower Sunbury. Unfortunately, the same shortcut is used, more and more often, by cyclists and, even worse, moped drivers, who ride on the pavement at high speeds. This poses a great threat to the inhabitants of the houses adjacent to this pavement/shortcut, especially since many children live there. Leaving the house through the front garden gate now involves the fear of being hit. Likewise, it is very dangerous for other people moving on this pavement, and this is quite a large number of people, including elderly people who visit the nearby cemetery. Could the local council put some speed barriers (or other obstructions) on this pavement that would still allow pedestrians to take this shortcut, but which would force cyclists and moped riders to dismount from their vehicles and slowly walk across the pavement? It can also be any other solution, but the one concrete post (see pictures), that is currently located there, does not pose any obstacle to the group of cyclists and moped riders mentioned above. I would be grateful if the council could do something about this problem before there was a tragedy involving children or the elderly.
