This is a copy of the complaint sent on the 3/9/21. Concerning the main footpath along the a68 in earlston to the only supermarket to the only supermarket in the village. The fact is it's completely in usable due to the different heights of the pavement and the extremely large hedges alongside and and the extremely large hedges alongside alongside the footpath, 20th May
This complaint was made on the 3rd of September last year ear and I know the council received it as I got a confirmation email the following day. Since then nothing has been done 1 10 even an email or a contact address or a name or a phone number. Is it the fact the people most affected are disabled ,elderly or that it's in Earlston. Had I reported this as Melrose high Street I'm very sure that it would have been dealt with within weeks and that I would have had email with some sort of contact address ,number. Please email me me.and explain when when the payment is to be put right and why you have just ignored that complaint.

Uneven pavement, 3rd September
As you can see from the photograph the foot path alongside the A68 at Arnot Place is is unusable as it is at two different heights and therefore people with disabilities such as wheelchairs, crutches or just buggies are unable to use this important route to the co-op supermarket. It is also one of the few pavements in earlston which is not cleared of snow or salted during winter as the tractor cannot get along. Please could you level the pavement pavement so that everybody can use this busy route. If this is not possible could you reduce the size of the flower bed and put a ramp in either end of the pavement to allow people to go up and down the different levels. Thank you

White lines warn away, 25th May
The white lines in center of the road have warn away at the junction of earlston high street /kidgate /a68. this has become a dangerous junction as they is no indication where to stop when turning into kidgage/heath centre. please could you repaint the centre white lines and include a yellow box or keep clear notice on the road to stop this junction being blocked all the time. thankyou.

Three drains blocked., 25th May
Three drains blocked outside earlston heath center.too on exist of heath center on kidgate and one out side entrance door to heath center. this is a problem as kidgate floods ever time it rains hard .the road suface is covered in pot holes which have to be filled in after it floods

Vehicle fumes in high street , due to volume of heavy goods vehicles, dust due to lack of street cleaning and the burning of fossil fuels., 12th September
The air quality on the high street makes me wheezy and chest sore. Has been reported to you before, my councillor and my local MSP. Nobody has contacted me. First reported well over six months ago.

Grit box, 18th November
The grit box located @td46ep was removed about2yrs ago and never returned.for the last 2 winters all my neighbours have suffered with icy paths&road.90%of are pensioners so could not get out without help.when grit was there there did not appear to be much of a problem.all residents of north summerfield would appreciate some positive action.yours j.boffey
