Speed of vechiles!! Accidents occuring, 23rd March
Village Residents, and those that are pedestrian walkers, dog walkers, on cycles, motor bikes etc and in vechiles are becoming increasing concerned at the speed of traffic down church lane just this last week a cyclist has been knocked off his bike and driver did not stop, and also someone's side mirror smashed by a passing vechile where someone ended up with a cut on her face. The speed of these vechiles down this country lane towards nickley wood is often 50-60 mph! There is bends to the road. Even a while back a car was slamming on brakes as nearly smashed into the back of my car which was parked on this road leaving skid marks on road. Would like kcc highways to investigate and try and resolve as someone MAY eventually get killed!!

Tree obstructing pushchairs, mobility scooters and pedestrians on bend, 7th September
Tree on pedestrian path is making it difficult for pedestrians to stay on path on a dangerous bend near village pub especially for pushchairs, family groups, young children, mobility scooters, wheelchairs etc. Not sure if the Kings Head pub owns Tree or if its protected but maybe path can be widened. Normally one pedestrian in group has to step into road would like safaty officers to look into issue as we have more public in area with new housing developments near pub and proposals in planning department.

Verge and hedge overgrown and blocking viability, 28th August
The verge and the hedge is now too overgrown and causing a hazzard. I fortunately even if vehicles are doing the speed limit on magpie hall road its insufficient visibility means you're at serious risk of being hit pulling out onto the road from Tally ho road. The hedger and verge urgently need cutting back again. I've now seen several near misses and nearly been hit myself. Traffic wasnt speeding and this is totally down to restricted visibility. However traffic often speeds there as they come from unrestricted to 40. Some dont appear to slow down at all. I think if the hedge gets much taller it's only a matter of time before someone is killed. Pmease can this be dealt with as a matter of urgency. Thank you in advance.

Abandoned vehicle on Byway, 23rd July
Burnt out car abandons on byway. Previously reported to police and Ashford BC several weeks ago - reply mentions it's landowner's responsibility - BUT this is on the public byway - not on private land. KCC byways dept. consider this byway to be in reasonable conditon and not in need of repair, however ABC says collection is too dangerous for its contractors! CATCH 22.

Damage to church lane continued, 8th June
Severe camber and cracked road surface in addition to deterioration of verges and road width due to heavy vehicle damage. Use of Church lane to Hamstreet road ameliorates traffic passing through Shadoxhurst but many residents now avoid the route because it is dangerous: too narrow to pass vehicles in opposite direction for much of its length without pulling off the road surface and having to avoid the steep, damaged verges and ditches. The damage has been increasing for the last 2 years. Now also really dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians.
