ISSUE: We have traffic complaints and issues because of the amount of visitors and not enough parking which contributes to people not adhering to the basic rules in the highway code of not parking on double yellow lines.

      ISSUE: Vehicle are parking on the double yellow lines at the base of the Wrekin. This is a safety issue for a couple of reasons.a) The safety of people walking around the base from car parks to walk up and around the Wrekin.b) The problems it causes parking on double yellow lines is that is wouldu00a0restrict larger vehicles and emergency services to surrounding villages.This has caused congestion problems
      ACTION: Update 22.05.2016

      • Warning notices have been issued to a number of drivers who have parked on double yellow lines. Theseu00a0notices are accompanied by educational letters from the Harm Reduction Unit. Persist ant offenders will be issued with u00a330 penalty ticket. Ongoing work continues with the Parish councils to ensure the road markings are clear.

      • The team have continued to issue drivers parked on the double yellow lines warning notices.u00a0 Almost 70 have been issued which have been followed up by educational letters from the Harm Reduction Unit.u00a0 As of yet we have had no repeat offenders.u00a0 The team will continue to monitor the parking.

      • We have a meeting on 17th August 2017 with Highways to resolve some of these issues.
