Numerous potholes and dreadful road surface in Commercial Road, Rhys y Fro, Pontaedawe., 4th January

Tue, 04 Jan 2022 18:29:17 +0000
51.734314 -3.864397

The road surface for long stretches of Commercial Road in Rhydyfro is in an awful state and littered with numerous uneven surfaces and pot holes. This has been the case for months if not years. On Christmas Eve 2021 my son had travelled from Hertford in Hertfordshire a distance of approximately 250 miles without any issues until he hit a pothole in the vicinity of where the Royal Oak pub used to be. This resulted in a snapped shock absorber and him having to leave his car at a local garage in Gwaun Cae Gurwen for repair and returning to Hertford in my car leaving my wife and I without a vehicle. His car is still not repaired and we are without a vehicle 10 days on and still counting. I intend claiming the cost of the repair when I have the bill and would welcome your guidance in how to register the claim on my son’s behalf. I look forward to your reply. Regards Mike James
