Many potholes unable to avoid, 6th March

Wed, 06 Mar 2024 18:14:32 +0000
51.975953 -4.439378

Many potholes, more than I could show in the 3 photos I was allowed to submit. One has to adopt a ‘chicane’ manoeuvre to try to safely drive through them. They have been here for many weeks.

Numerous potholes, 5th March

Tue, 05 Mar 2024 18:26:56 +0000
51.976016 -4.43947

Too many potholes to count. All across the road, you have to weave in and out to try to avoid them, very dangerous to cyclists and motorcyclists. Vehicles are taking a pounding from them. Been reported via Carmarthen council website everyday but no response. Now's the time to show the public that it's been reported and get it sorted, they can't say anymore they didn't know about it.

Blocked drain further up the lane, 30th December

Sat, 30 Dec 2023 13:30:28 +0000
51.981417 -4.457626

Drain is blocked further up the lane, all drains over whelmed by water coming off the fields. Drain pipes too narrow to cope with rainfall we now have over the last few years, needs an urgent up grade to stop the water flooding my house and houses further down . Been reporting this for years and very little is done. We are out 2 or 3 times a day unblocking drain covers as they are covered in leaves stopping the water getting into the drain.

Office chair flytipped, 7th October

Wed, 07 Oct 2020 14:58:56 +0100
51.988032 -4.448128

I drove down the hill in the dark last night and nearly hit this chair, it has been reported to Carmarthenshire council over a month ago, nothing has been done. It was laying in the grass but the other night someone must have moved it as I very nearly hit it in my vehicle as you can't see it very well in th edark As this has been reported in the past and it is being reported again now as flytipping, if my vehicle or anyone else's vehicle/s get damaged or somebody is ijured like a cyclist, I will make sure the council are held responsible. It can cause a bad accident. I got out and moved it back over on the grass, if it's not dealt with soon I wil take this further.

Drain still blocked, 15th March

Sun, 15 Mar 2020 12:56:53 +0000
51.981517 -4.457269

They only came out as I put in a second report, twice they have tried and failed to sort the drains out in the last week. They have left the gaping hole that I reported that is next to the drain that is over flowing in the road and one drain is still blocked so the water is over flowing down the road. Their idea of filling in a 7 inch across hole by 3 foot deep is to chuck some tarmac down and around it, it ended up resembling a black polo mint. The tarmac didn't do anything to plug the hole of course which anyone with any sense would have known. It's all crumbled and fallen in, adding further to the blockages down the drain. If it freezes in the next week or two it is going to be an ice rink with the water flowing down the road. The whole drainage system here needs over hauling not very temporary bodged repairs that clearly don't work.

This pothole sits in a puddle when it rains so no one can see it, I have damaged the steering/tracking on my transit van because of it and my girlfriend's car is in the garage next week for the same thing. If it happens again or to anyone else we will claim repairs/damages off the council.

Reported blocked drains on 16-02-20 nothing done, NOW worse, 9th March

Mon, 09 Mar 2020 12:18:50 +0000
51.980991 -4.458095

As in the title, Carmarthenshire council still have not unblocked the drains along my lane, now the road has collapsed in to one drain leaving a hole you can put your arm down and one of the others the force of the water going through it lifted the cover up and it is now sitting down the drain leaving a large open hole with a 4 foot drop in to the road. IF a vehicle, cycle or pedestrian were to go down it it would cause major damage/injury. All the drains apart from 2 are blocked, the water runs down the road and is eroding it and the verge away. If it floods my house due to the drains not coping then I will be passing the council's details on to my insurance company. There is also another hole next to the drain down the bottom of the hill by the river.

4 drains blocked leading to possible flooding to properties further down, 16th February

Sun, 16 Feb 2020 09:13:41 +0000
51.981517 -4.457033

4 drains blocked along the lane, 2 completely covered up by mud and debris to the point you wouldn't know there's a drain there and 2 further down, almost opposite each other, are blocked underground somewhre leading to water cascading out of the drain covers and running down the road. I have eased it somewhat by unblocking a fifth drain (twice) . It had 6 inches of stones down it the second time. If this continues the farmhouse at the bottom of the hill is in imminent danger of flooding. The rains need clearing asap incase it rains heavily again

Bin never emptied by the council, they just wait until someone like me reports it on fix my street. It's been over flowing on to the path for weeks now, needs to be emptied asap, been reported by others on the council site a while ago, so they can't say they didn't know.

Drain blocked underground causing flooding, 6th December

Thu, 06 Dec 2018 11:48:15 +0000
51.981292 -4.457784

Constantly having to go up and down the lane removing leaves, mud, stones, twigs from drain covers. Very little input by the council. Last time they came a month ago they scraped the debris from the drain cover and piled it up BEHIND the drain IN the FLOW of the water coming down the road, really clever that. The water flowing down the road simply pushed it all back in to the drain and he failed to sort the blocked drain out then which was causing the problem further up the road which I am now reporting. I cannot unblock the drain up towards the Chapel as there are stones, gravel, mud and leaves blocking it underground, my drain rods won't go through it.It needs a lorry with suction to clear it. The force of the water coming down has pushed the drain cover up exposing the open drain which is also causing danger to passing vehicles and pedestrians who may step/drive on it. I put the cover back on when the flood subsides. We nearly keep getting flooded out in our house due to poor drains and very little maintenance. Walking up the lane after any deluge is like walking though a river, it simply runs down the road instead of the drains, when that freezes there are going to be accidents as people speed up and down the lane.

Drains and ditch blocked in various places causing flooding further down the lane, 29th December

Fri, 29 Dec 2017 12:05:32 +0000
51.981371 -4.457462

There are 7 blocked drains and ditches up the lane from my house, has been getting worse for weeks and is a regular occurrence. I have been out this morning with broom and drain rods, managed to clear most of the drains of mud, silt, stones and rubbish and got 5 working again. The water that was pouring down the road as it by passes these drains was like a river and danger to traffic and pedestrians alike when it freezes. There is still a blockage between 2 of of the drainson the road, I have been unable to unblock it with my drain rods as they are only thin but it has improved it a little. The amount of water coming down off the fields is too much for it to cope with unless that blockage is removed. The drain cover had burst upwards and was laying on it's side leaving an open hole, again dangerous it you are walking up the lane, I did what I could clearing it and refitted the cover, making it safe. The second one that's blocked is up past the chapel on the unmade road leading up on to the fields which I believe is council owned still. The ditch is blocked to over flowing and again I cannot free it with drain roads as I have tried. there seems to be a collapsed pipe half way up the drainpipe that goes under the ground by the first gate on the right. There's a little bit of water exiting the outflow pipe in to the ditch but most of the water is over flowing and onto the unmade road bringing down mud, stones and debris which is of course the root of the problem further down the lane with the other drains getting blocked. Can you unblock the drain down the lane and the ditch drain up by the Chapel please. The water flowing down the lane this morning outside my gate was in danger of breaching my step and flooding my basement out.
