Tree Preservation Order application, 9th March
Location: SA38 9JT (Ffoslas, Cenarth)
Type of species: 50 Conifer Trees
At the bottom of our paddock we have a set of 50 conifer trees. Recently we have been informed that our neighbour is seeking to claim ownership of that piece of land with the intention of cutting those trees down. Having taken almost 30 years to grow to the current height of 50 feet, we are deeply concerned that these trees are now under imminent threat.
The healthy conifers are located between our property and the caravan park. With the current threats of climate emergency, the endangerment to the survival and continuity of wildlife, the destruction of the Amazon rainforest but to name a few, the international communities have increased effort to double tree cover throughout the world. The idea of cutting down a set of 50 conifer trees is simply unimaginable and defies all logic. Besides absorbing the carbon dioxide from passing vehicles, serving as a wind-shield protection to nearby properties from the direct impact of rain and storm, these conifers not only serve to benefit our health (which in turn reduce pressure on our NHS service) but their contribution to the surrounding landscape also means increasing enjoyment to the local community as a whole (such as joggers, hikers, horse-riders and passer-by). For visitors camping out at the caravan park, the opportunity to relax near the warm fresh aromas offers an important social and personal sense of wellbeing that benefits all. Every year, birds (including pigeons, doves, magpies, jays, and other exotic species that we don’t even know their types) always return to these conifers to nest (as they are doing now) and their population play a vital role in our ecosystems. A tree preservation order for the 50 conifer trees therefore, is desperately needed to protect the habitat of the wildlife species as well as to sustain the wellbeing of the local communities.
The environmental and social benefits of these conifer trees are self evident. Action is needed to ensure their long-term survival. Please save, protect and preserve them from being destroyed. Thank you for your kind consideration

Lack of street lighting, 15th June
The lack of street lighting from the school to the junction leading to Cenarth Falls Holiday Park is extremely dark an dangerous for pedestrians at night - both young and elderly are in danger of having nasty injuries in this location. On a number of occasions both myself and friends have fallen or tripped in this area due to the lack of lighting. We have been caravan owners for the past six years and have paid our rates to the Council but for what? The Council have a duty of care to both residents of the Caravan Park and residents of Cenarth.
