FIXMYSTREET IN SK3 0PU
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of SK3 0PU:
Terrible pothole repair, 26th April
There is a pothole here that has been repaired numerous times now but the repair is not good enough. The hole appears again within a week and the debris covers both lanes. Drivers are trying to avoid this massive hole and swerve into the righthand lane causing even more hazards to drivers in both lanes. The roads in Manchester ( specific mention of Chorlton as they are terrible!) need better repairs. I quick fix doesn't work.

Pothole, 26th April
Pot hole in the left-hand lane. The hole is deep and causes the vehicle to jolt. I am concerned that this will cause lasting damage to my vehicle. The pot hole is dangerous as many cars need to swerve into the right hand land to avoid the hole.
The pot hole has been repaired a number of times in the past couple of weeks, but within a matter of days the repair has failed. Debris from the failed repairs make the situation worse.

Dangerous, eyesore skip, 16th April
This dangerous skip on Shakespeare Drive is overflowing and may present a hazard if the contents were to spill onto the highway. It also has no cones or lighting. It has been here for months and spoils the visual amenity for all the local residents. Thank you.

Dangerous pedestrian access, 9th April
I am quite concerned by a public right of way at Parrs Wood, East Didsbury. There's a road and footpath, where everyone exits East Didsbury Rail Station that enters Wilmslow road, which comes to an abrupt end at a particularly busy exit.
I've cautiously stepped around the corner myself and forced to step into the busy road. I've been close to hit by a car twice in the 6 months living here, coming at some speed and swinging into the road that leads up to the station. The junction I'm referring to is right next to citypeak accommodation where many people live, which is another reason why it seems ridiculous that they built no substantial footpath for pedestrians to exit.
The exact location I'm referring to is located at ///purple.frame.under on what three words. I've attached some photos to show the location and footpath that ends and offers no safe route into the main Wilmslow Road.
It feels like there is a really easy solution, which would make the exit safe and more accessible, by putting a small footpath across the corner of citypeak accommodation. It looks to me like it's the developers who built these flats that took a corner of the footpath and built a metal fence at the time they built the accommodation. Arguably because they cut corners and it was easier to do so. Either way, there's easily enough room to make a footpath that sweeps around this corner and avoids people having to step into the road to exit the train station. It feels like an easy fix.
I want to stress my concern as this feels like there's currently no regard for people safety. This is a very busy station, where lots of children leave and parents exit here with prams, as this is the direct route from the train station to Parrs Wood entertainment center and Parrs Wood High School. It seems like something that could be completely resolved with next to no effort, other than removing the metal fence, which would come at almost no cost to the council, but potentially save people's lives.
You'll probably know that there's lots of accidents that happen at the Parrs Wood junction already. It seems like addressing this concern should be a priority, since this is a location that serves the public with shopping, cinema, gym, schools, accommodation and rail. If anything was to happen there is now record of this email, so I hope someone will take it seriously and get back to me via email or the phone number below.
I am more than happy to come and join an inspection and I'm more than happy to help if it comes to this. As I say, there's no obvious reason why it couldn't be resolved almost cost free and in a matter of hours, but it would certainly make children, parents and students safe to commute to and from school.
Thank you for your consideration.

Man hole near bustop in middle of road, 23rd March
Everytime a car drives over the manhole, and bear in mind this is Didsbury road, there is a huge bang. It is affecting everyone in the area detrimentally. I believe someone "fixed" it a few weeks ago, only for the problem to return the next day. It is a loose cover, whatever they did last time was not enough, the whole manhole needs to be replaced. This has been ongoing for at least 6 weeks, we are all losing sleep over it. Plus no peace and quiet during the day. Please fix ASAP
