Obstructive Parking, 28th November

Ongoing parking issues, 3rd October
The photos are just an example of the ongoing parking issues faced by residents and delivery vehicles trying to get up and down Highgate Road. Drivers have to repeatedly drive up onto the curb (which is now becoming damaged). At times it’s clear that a fire engine would just not get through. We are a local business that need access in and out with our Airstream to get to weddings and events.

Safe off-road linking path required at A624 Chapel Road, 25th September
Multiple bridleways and footpaths are severed at “Peep O-Day” on the A624 Chapel Road. This missing link across and alongside the incredibly fast, hostile and dangerous A road could be easily solved by laying a basic roadside path on the east side of the carriageway. There is ample space here and it is already informally used, but becomes overgrown at times and muddy at others.
Where it links into the bridleway (towards the Pennine Bridleway national trail) at the northern end, it is narrowed slightly by the verge which could be easily dug out. A fence alongside the carriageway could be provided if necessary.
This road has seen the fatality of a vulnerable road user trying to make this missing link and the council has failed to act - why?

Bridleway obstructed by large puddle/lake, 11th April
A large lake of a puddle completely obstructs the path in wet weather rending it unusable, while at other times the churned up and muddy path condition makes it very difficult to use. It would not take much to at least add new surfacing material here to raise the path level in this dip and ensure any water collects at the sides rather than in the middle. (Of course, longer term drainage could be looked at entirely.) I would suggest this should be done as a matter of urgency given that this Bridleway is an essential link to avoid the A624 (linking Highgate Road to Maynestone Road) and the junction of Highgate Road where a cyclist fatality was sadly recently recorded.

No cycle parking, 23rd August
Please could you provide some cycle parking stands for Hayfield? The central Market Street has numerous on-street parking bays but nowhere to lock a bike. Derbyshire County Council should be encouraging people to walk and cycle for local journeys and there is no opportunity to do this here.

"Traffic lights" warning sign reversed., 24th March
Driving towards Glossop, at the point marked, there's a permanent traffic light warning sign on the west side of the road. Presumably, this is supposed to be facing in the opposite direction -- warning drivers approaching *from* Glossop of the pedestrian/horse crossing ahead. In its current orientation, it makes no sense -- heading towards Glossop there are NO traffic lights for five miles!
This sign needs to be rotated 180 degrees, or removed.

Excessive Speeding, 22nd September
Cars and lorries speed along this road well above 30mph. Lorries cause house vibration when under load and speeding. Boy racing is not uncommon on some evenings/night. We had another accident on the road recently that destroyed some walls and left car debris. The entire length of the road from New Mills to Hayfield is seen as race track to some. Traffic managment or speed cameras are desparately needed.

Potholes around grids, 10th November
Ever since the road was resurfaced the grids are too low, and effectively potholes. It is impossible to avoid these on such a narrow road without veering onto the other side of the road. Soon they will cause an accident or damage somebodies car.
