Cars parking in front of red traffic lights in Macc. Road, 14th November

Mon, 14 Nov 2022 13:24:07 +0000
53.252516 -1.935861

Oncoming HGVs have to mount the pavement to get past cars parked in front of the red traffic lights. This severely restricts the width of the road. I have reported this problem before some time ago, but nothing has been done in the way of yellow lines or signage. The exact location of this problem is the multi-junction traffic lights between Macclesfield Road, Macclesfield Old Road, Leek Road and st. Johns Road.

Persistent parking issue Sainsburys Buxton, 15th October

Sat, 15 Oct 2022 16:53:46 +0100
53.255779 -1.914837

There is a constant stream of drivers who park on double yellows outside of Sainsburys in Buxton. It’s been reported many times, but there appears to be little enforcement or threat of being caught. The worst offenders are parking over the pedestrian dropped kerb which endangers those with visual impairments and those of limited mobility as they can’t safely cross the road. People are often only there a few minutes but the constant stream means the crossing point can be blocked a lot of the time. Note that although loading doesn’t appear to be banned, shoppers with a few bags of groceries are not by definition covered by the loading exception. Also whilst blue badge holders can mostly park here I have seen some blocking the dropped kerb, which is leaving the vehicle in a dangerous position and breaking the terms of usage of the badge.

Parking 4 days in a 40 minute zone, 8th September

Thu, 08 Sep 2022 19:48:49 +0100
53.254394 -1.915458

This range over has been parked outside High Street News for 4 days in a restricted 40 min zone. Normally there are traffic wardens patrolling High Street and surrounding roads so how it’s managed to park there for 4 days without getting a ticket is a mystery to me. It is stopping customers being able to park and pop into shops on High Street by being stuck there for so long thus being very bad for business
