Bollards missing, 18th April

Thu, 18 Apr 2024 17:39:05 +0100
51.573556 0.476006

At least four of the wooden posts/bollards that run in a line along the edge of the green space to the south of Broadmayne whuch are there, one presumes, to prevent illegal and unauthorised vehicular access are missing/uprooted. This could, possibly, be an advance action in order to gain illegal unauthorised access to make an illegal encampment by our traveller friends given the shenanigans reported in Colchester today. It is that time of year after all and this is a known hotspot for this sort of thing. Would be a 'stitch in time to save nine' to get these replaced immediately rather than having the prospect of an illegal encampment setting up and the bother of the legal actions etc needed to get rid of it once it's there. Forewarned is forearmed and all that...

Good Morning Due to the block of flats on southern hay next to Basildon Easgate, people who love there are blocking the entrance for delivery drivers but also there are people in the building I.e. I work at new look for eastgate and this is a health and safety risk. The land outside the centre is owned by the council. This keeps happening on a daily basis but they will generally be gone Monday to Froday to go to work after 9ish

It would appear that there used to be a road sign identifying that you are entering a bus lane however this has been removed leaving an unlit lump of concrete in the middle of the road which is hard to see at night and has the potential to either damage vehicles or be a trip hazard.

Over 20 in some places, 11th March

Mon, 11 Mar 2024 18:19:20 +0000
51.559093 0.493418

Dangerous pot holes on both sides of the A13 between Basildon and Pitsea. There are at least 10-20 potholes on both sides of the road. It is possibly the worst condition dual carriage I have ever seen, and a miracle that someone has not been injured. This must be causing substantial damage to peoples vehicles, and is frankly disgusting that it has been in that condition for so long. Personally think people need to start taking collective legal action, as it is beyond unacceptable. Drivers pay enough money in both road tax, and local council tax to not be driving on roads in this condition. It is an embarrassment as a modern country. Maybe this time spend some of the extortionate tax we pay as a country, and actually use a vendor that conducts a repair that lasts. Other countries have far worse weather conditions but better roads. Why? Because they don't get ripped off by poor vendors who conduct awful work, and use premium products to repair their roads. It's not rocket science, you get what you pay for, unless obviously you are a UK car tax payer, in which case you get ripped off. Honestly fix the road. Complete embarrassment.
