Byway overgrown and access tricky, 29th August
Byway is through farm. Clearly they don't want people using it, so access is made difficult. Narrow at start, metal sheets over pathway and the brambles and nettles have been allowed to grow excessively. There is a bit where you have to cross a stream, the bridge has been removed. The exit onto the campsite is deliberately difficult with a rickety old gate held together with string. The path starts in the farm and exits onto campsites.

Road surface edge cracking, 24th March
Location- left hand side of mill lane (b3055) going away from brockenhurst small breakup along most of the edges and cracks appearing one particularly bad section aprox three quarters of the way along. This road was completely resurfaced to a high standard some six months ago a ditch has been dug to one side and the earth heaped up to support the edge and stop traffic going down the ditch. Unfortunately this now forces large vehicles when passing to squeeze of the road on the opposite side where there is no edge support only earth which, is in some parts is up to 400 mm below the road surface as the road edge has no structural integrity it has now started to break down and crack in some places up to 5 metre long sections building up the edge with concrete would have avoided this. Seems such a shame that a road surface only six months old is already beginning to degrade.
