People speeding in 30 zone along Quob Lane, 23rd February

Fri, 23 Feb 2024 21:22:38 +0000
50.933624 -1.331508

There is a Lack of 30mph signs along Quob lane in the residential area and entering the residential area of Quob lane. People speed well over 30mph heading in to or out of the national speed limit part of Quob lane, living next to the road and walking along it most days with my dog people exceed well over 50/60mph along it. Its a very straight piece of road in places and allows people to build up a lot of speed. This road is residential and has a nursery/preschool along it. My child goes to the nursery and it’s worrying to see cars constantly exceeding 30mph. I would suggest more 30mph signs along the road, a speed control sign that flashes if someone is speeding and some traffic calming on the roundabout outside Quob farm close /Barbe Baker Avenue as people speed along both ways of the road and drive straight over the roundabout. It’s very dangerous with children and dog walkers in the area. The problem in my opinion is lack of signage and the roundabout isn’t suitable to slow drivers down.

Lane markings confusing and impossible to determine, 1st February

Thu, 01 Feb 2024 09:36:30 +0000
50.942437 -1.362125

There are two sections of road where the lane markings are almost impossible to see, especially when the sun is low in the mornings. I’ve attached one video showing the area directly alongside the runway, I have a couple of others I can send (but bigger files) I wouldn’t normally get in touch (assuming someone else will), but I’ve had two incidents myself now where cars have drifted across my lane and swerved when realising they’re following the wrong road markings. An accident is waiting to happen.
