Potholes and poor road surface, 26th April
Some repairs have been done on this stretch of road however now the roads have dried up there are still potholes and generally poor road surfaces. It looks like an abandoned road! I still have to drive less than 10mph over this stretch of road. It needs repairing asap whilst it’s dry.
Also noted that the frame entrance has bee repaired which I suspect is a private road and the farm vehicles are causing some of the issues with the public road. I would appreciate you early attention to fix this stretch of road. Thankyou

Hello, you have just posted today an update to the Outstanding Potholes which were not repaired following contractors repairs of last week.
Your update states: “our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale”.
Whilst driving on this particular stretch of road, it is not possible to drive at 20 mph or even 10 mph or 5 mph without damaging the tyres, suspension or steering of your vehicle. You have to come to a complete – STOP and then to carefully manoeuvre over the sharp edged Potholes – some of which are 10” deep.
It is so hazardous for cyclists particularly when the Potholes are covered with rain water - an accident is just waiting to happen.
Can I therefore please ask whoever wrote this update, that they attend Station Road to see first-hand themselves the severity of these deep and hazardous Potholes.
If your priority is indeed at responding: “to be effective at responding to the most serious problems”
Then on your own admission and criteria, you would wish to review this update and schedule for these outstanding works as a priority.
These comments andthe reports from other local residents and users of this road, is in the backdrop of Highways being notified as far back as October 2023 – 6 months ago. After waiting for 6 months, only 2 contractors attended for only 2 days. The gentlemen on their own admission clearly did not have enough time or material in order to complete the job, and now you reply …. “so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale”.
Would please visit this road in question, re assess for the hazardous Potholes adjacent to Boycott Farm and schedule to complete these works.

6 x Potholes for Repair (12th March 2024)., 12th March
There are 6 Potholes which need repairing. Please see 3 attached photos. They were marked up by Highways contractors who were doing work on Station Road last week, but who did not have any spare tarcadam to fix.

False / misleading updates - Poholes still not Fixed., 12th March
Sad to report, but the severe deep potholes have still not been repaired - opposite Boycott Farm, Station Road.
I enclose photos taken this morning (12th March 2024) which clearly show 10+ deep hazardous Potholes which were not fixed last week and which remain outstanding.
Can you please complete this work as promised. Your stated update of last week as "Fixed" is wholly inacurate and false. You should not state - "Fixed" because as you will see from todays photos - it is not fixed.
2 -3 tonnes of hot tarmacadam + 2 men over 1 or 2 days will sort it.

Roadside drain blocked, 22nd February
This drain gully is full of mud and rubbish preventing water flowing from the road into the brook. Failure to attend to these problems is false economy as accelerated damage to the road is going to be the result .

This drain has been blocked with mud for months , it's been reported numerous times and never been attended to . Now it has tarmac on top of the mud . It cannot be the responsibility of anyone but the highways authority .

Excessive standing water, blocked drains causing excessive road damage, 22nd February
As detailed above with higher rain fall than normal causing standing water for 2 months +. Road is FULL of serious pot holes not visible because of the standing water. Drains are BLOCKED and will not take anymore. I live in Powys and visit my grandchildren regularly being of the older generation not comfortable driving on a road in such poor repair with continued raised water levels, and concerned about my grandchildren. Very poor road surface large potholes along the length, 21st February
Surface all the way along Hem lane is extremely poor. Large potholes along the length of the road. Constant flooding is adding to the break up of the road and potholes.
