Footpath needs staggered barrier to prevent cars and bicycles using it!, 29th April

Mon, 29 Apr 2024 20:19:17 +0100
52.855837 -2.723477

I live at 2 The Old Lop Shop, opposite the Castle Pub, off Drawwell Walk (not Drawwell Lane). This is a footpath once it gets past our driveway. There is a no cycling sign but no-one takes any notice. Worse still I have seen half a dozen cars drive up it and then reverse when they meet the barrier by the industrial estate, sometimes at speed. My car has been hit by cyclists and damaged twice as I come out of my drive. I have seen playing children almost hit by cars on the footpath. I stopped several of the drivers and they claim that their sat navs tell them to take the 'next right'. As there are no barriers they assume it is a road! Someone is gong to get hurt, especially in the dark!

The whole road, a mile long! Full of bad potholes, most you can just see now as the waters starting go ( the roads been flooded since October) I'm not sure you can call it a road anymore as there's not many places with tarmac on it! It's doing god knows what damage to my car and as its a dead end I have no option but to use it!

Severely Damaged Road, 15th April

Mon, 15 Apr 2024 18:14:39 +0100
52.856804 -2.697494

Dear Sirs, My 83 year old mother in law is being overlooked by the local highways team in Shropshire. She now lives alone at the far end of Alderley Lane and down another track to her bungalow. Over the years I have known her she has always managed to get down the lane to shop, go to medical appointments and have valuable social time with friends. The lane has historically been bumpy and floods regularly and after many years of complaining some pot holes were fixed by the local council which helped but not by a lot. Recently a new farmer has taken over the land. Up until last week I had seen no change in the lanes state. Last week the new farmer used equipment that was too heavy and wide for the lane. This was used to deliver slurry to the fields. These vehicles have brought the lane back to square one. Drainage has been damaged, potholes have reappeared and in places the road has sunk. Flooding that had been dealt with has now returned. One pothole is new and deep and will damage cars I have no doubt on that point. The state is so bad that carers, postmen and the bin lorry have all refused to provide their services to her. This is not her faiult and is definitely the fault of the farmer. Please can you address this status as a matter of urgency and give this some attention. It really is very unfair on her and she does not have the energy to complain unlike me. At the very least this lane needs to be cleared of debris and potholes refilled. To be honest the whole lane has needed to be resurfaced for about the past 10 years. It needs effective drainage and ditches dug. I hope you can atl least take a look for yourselves. Kind Regards Richard Vernon Mobile: 07903 910344 Sent from my mobile phone device

Pothole road fault on pedestrian crossing, 12th April

Fri, 12 Apr 2024 15:57:33 +0100
52.859741 -2.722778

Today at 15.10pm, I witnessed a lady crossing at the pedestrian crossing be thrown from her wheelchair at this location as her front wheels got stuck in the long pothole, surface damage, which then propelled her forward out of her wheelchair onto the road. Luckily another passerby helped her up and got her safely out of the road. This is unacceptable! This needs action immediately! The whole road surface in this location has been reported on multiple occasions and still nothing has happened to remedy the issues. What 3 words relieves.crisps.goodnight

Vehicles travelling down one way street in wrong direction, 11th April

Thu, 11 Apr 2024 12:27:46 +0100
52.855407 -2.724471

Increasingly more vehicles have been entering the one way street from the wrong direction (directly from the high street) and at unsafe speeds. I have had multiple near misses with people nearly driving into the front of myself even though I’m travelling the right way. The problem has always been there but within the last few months it is now a daily/hourly occurrence as the road markings are now nonexistent to let people know it is a one way street.

Drains full of silt, 10th April

There are 2 kerbside drains that are full of silt. These 2 drains appear to run onto my property and therefore started to fill the manhole drain on my property. The drains require emptying. As the flow runs kerbside onto my property are you also responsible for emptying my drain?
