Water plus rubble coming off Bridle way lower than the drain., 14th April

Sun, 14 Apr 2024 18:50:43 +0100
52.174741 -3.961735

Ware the Bridleway meets the road huge amounts of water and mess go directly onto the road and on several occasions the water has reached the village, in the past getting as far as the village shop it floode ou at least 3 houses in the village in the recent past. The cause is the meeting point of the bridleway meeting the tarmac road. There is a drain is in the wrong place its 4 feet too high up the road .... water does not run up hill. The tarmac has also eroded again as it has done each year for the last 6 years and the council has repaired it each year .. Just move the drain 4 ft further up the hill. But you need also to make a concrete ramp at the end of the Bridle way to direct the water into the drain ..If you dont do both of these tasks the problem will re occur each and every year, Split the cost 50 / 50 between Highways and Bridle paths as they have both refused responsibility in the recent past .... Thank you.

6 Dry Stone wall collapses, 14th April

Sun, 14 Apr 2024 18:33:30 +0100
52.170951 -3.959675

On either side of this narrow road there are 6 plus dry stone falls / collapses blocking the drainage ditches causing vast amounts of water to drift onto the road along with large amounts of grit and vegetation in the winter it freezes to ice so no vehicles can go up or down the road ... therefore if any of the 9 houses need police, Doctor, ambulance or food no vehicles can proceed. Plus if any house catches fire the home owners will fry and die. All the ditches either side of Waun Isaf desperately need a complete clear out and the roadway needs a road sweeper to attend there is too much grit and mud in the centre of the road.

Eleven dry stone wall collapses blocking drainage ditches and spreading wall stones onto the side of the highway., 12th March

Hello from the turning down from Pantgwyn down the mountain Ffarmers road then turning right down the Quarry road their 11 ELEVEN dry stone wall collapses that have either blocked the drainage ditches on both sides of the entire road way or the stones have encroached to the tarmac road way causing a great hazard especially at night "no street lights". These have been caused by both Giant log lorries hitting the walls and dislodging a great number of stones...... I have been behind a log lorry on two occasions and witnessed myself and have removed large stone from the road way on six separate days. At most of the rock falls above the T junction they are fully blocking the drainage ditches on both sides of the road way thus causing the entire road way to flood from top to bottom when this freezes it becomes an ice rink for 3 to 50 meters down the entire road, last year and the year before we were all trapped for 6 and 12 days and could not get out for food etc,. NOTE, as all the drainage ditches have not been cleared / maintained they are also full of debris of many types making the water over flow on to the tarmac road way, an all year event. Please Please can you fix this problem there are 9 houses up here many with aging occupants. Finally the whole road ways surface is covered in debris ie stones grit and mud which will in turn go into the drainage ditches on both sides of the road thus blocking them even more then incurring even more surface water problems. Please can you fix all of the above ASAP Thank you.

Very excessive water run off from Bridleway., 12th March

Tue, 12 Mar 2024 16:09:52 +0000

Hello just where the Bridleway meets the road huge amounts of water that run off the mountain and Bridleway onto the road eroding the Tarmac surface creating a pot hole EVERY YEAR the council has repaired it 7 years in succession without solving the actual cause. The water flows out down the Bridleway and exits onto the road BELOW THE DRAIN so carries on down to the village flooding right across the entire r road way right by the children's play area then flowing into the village down to the village shop, sand bags had to be put outside the shop to stop it going right inside ! CAUSE = the drain by the water exit point on to the tarmac is 3 to 4 feet higher it needs lowering back that distance to capture the overflow as water does not RUN UP HILL. I have spoken to Highways in the past they say its Bridleways ... I spoke to Bridleways and met the gentleman who works or assesses them on site he told me it was Highways kicked a few stones around an said it was fixed ..... then walked off ! Answer, all that needs to be done is a 50 / 50 split on cost between Highways and Bridleways to sort it. Solution,Make a concrete ramp at the end of the Bridleway that spans the width of it to funnel all the water into the drain, Bur you must also move the darin up 3 to 4 feet up the hill to make it work. NOTE, a very crude repair was done approx 4 weeks ago at the end of the Bridleway IE, an arrangement of very small stones laid on the surface in the mud in a vague attempt to channel the water into the misplaced drain Note, I have repaired that 3 times so far as every time a Horse, Quad bike or walkers traverse over said area the tiny stones are cast aside and the problem continues. Note as the water run of covers the entire road way for days at a time when it freezes in winter the entire roadway is an ice rink so no Doctor, Ambulance or Fire Engine cannot go up or down the hill ........ We dont want to fry and die in a house fire !! PLEASE PLEASE fix this problem once and for all.

Significant amounts of water is flowing down and missing drains and instead pouring down the road. The drainage was dug out some time ago, but needs to be done again, perhaps with a more permanent solution. Diolch yn fawr.

Water on road, 3rd December

Sun, 03 Dec 2023 14:53:58 +0000
52.174649 -3.961971

During the extreme cold spells we have ice sheets forming on the road. This is on the steep part of the hill where the water runs from the bridleway onto the road. This is extremely dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and car users. There is drainage there but the water is missing the drainage and into the road, can this be addressed before someone is seriously hurt.
