Recycling not picked up, 2nd February
Thursday 28th Jan recycling was left out by 9am, however it was not picked up. Penegoes is very windy and there is frequently rubbish strewn along the street so I put the recycling out in the morning to avoid littering overnight. 90% of the time recycling is picked up between 11am - 2pm so this is not a problem. I assume on this day they came much earlier as the recycling was not picked up. As my recycling was full We now have a backlog which will take weeks to clear. I would ask that the recycling is not picked up at inconsistent times. There is Currently nowhere else I can take the surplus recycling.

40MPH Speed limit, 27th July
Has anyone been to Penegoes and tried t cross the road?? The villiage is on a bend. Cars rarely do the 40MPH speed limit and local youths use it as a race track. Local police are aware of the problem, but nothing seems to be done about it. I am, along with many people that live in the village, concerned about the speed through the village. Surely it can be lowered to 30MPH? as a local i am sick and tired of having my car "bumped into" as i wait for oncomming traffic to clear before i can turn off the main road to park, just like i am sick and tired of dodging death every time i need to cross the road. Children live in the village and to get to the village play round this busy road must be crossed. Traffic levels are rising, i guess due to people holidaying in the UK rather than aroad and it is only going to be a matter of time before som one is killed. Almost every year there is serious accident at the one end of the villiage due to a hidden dip with a turning, drivers who are not local often end up crashing as it looks like the road is clear, but it is not due to the dip and turning, Yet there are no sings. This village is a lovely plce to live, but we have had enough of the speeding and i think most of us agree 40MPH is TOO fast for the village.

Powys County Council
Dear Sir,
As you can see I live in Forge where the side of the river I live on is in complete darkness due to the badly managed so called cost cutting exercise of Powys County Council.
I think that what you have done has placed our property and personal safety (with or without a torch) in danger from burglary, vandalism and thugs at night time. This action has left my Wife and I feeling less safe and secure in our own home.
You have a duty of care to us and I would like to ask if you have you done a risk assessment here ?
I understand that some consultation is taking place (Nobody consulted me!) regarding the possibility of putting some lights back on under a part time (12.30AM off) basis and I would be just a little bit happier with this solution and am looking to you for the putting the road light back on.
I have also spoken to my Councilor about this situation also.
By the way, I see you still have some Christmas Lights on in Machynlleth and I would be happy to have one lot of them here outside our property if all else fails
For your further information the post number is FR04
I am happy for you to reply either by Telephone, E Mail or Post whatever you wish.
Yours Sincerely,
Kenny Thain
