Pot holes from: No1 The Croft, Hoylandswaine onwards, 3rd April
Lived at No 3 for 40 plus years and outside No3 the road has never been resurfaced in full. But every year for the last 11 years it gets patched and patched and lasts only weeks. Once it breaks up we sweep all the broken stones bits back into the holes to save them damaging tyres and other parts of road surface. I have taken photos back since 2007.

Damaged Street Light, between No1 & 3 The Croft, 3rd April
Noticed the cover was off the front over electrics. Unable to put back on as key needed. Removed clasp and turned 90 degree and fastened lid on with Cable Ties. Noticed that there is a crack in the concrete that is running across RH side and across rear. Left side not cracked. RH side can push a plastic cable tie in. Danger of lamp falling onto cars etc.

Scaffolds and sign near junction, 9th March
A large scaffold is blocking the view from the right when entering the road from Wellhouse Lane. The result is that cars coming at 60mph are not visible until 20M from the junction. This is very dangerous. There is no purpose to the scaffold only advertising a generator company.

Park opposite the junction every day, 7th September
There has nearly been several accidents due to these two cars continually been parked here. The school is on this junction and it’s often grid locked. It’s only a matter of time before there’s a serious accident where a smal child gets injured.

Large pothole, 6th July
Pothole getting bigger by the hour due to leaking water main.
Leaking water is also highlighting drainage problems as most of gullies on downhill side not working.
Water then comes up out of a gully further down on downhill side

Large pot hole on Chappel road, 3rd October
Large pot hole, getting bigger. Extra dangerous as is around a man hole cover so exposed metal edges are sticking up into the road

Continuing potholes for last 44 years, never resurfaced., 9th March
We have lived here since 1978. Over the years the road has these pot holes outside houses 1,3 & 5 The Croft, Hoylandswaine. The other half of road was completely resurfaced some years ago. These holes are very badly repaired sometimes several times a year. We are fed up of having to sweep the loose stones from road, pavement and drives to refill the deeper and deeper holes. One of the pictures shows a patchwork of previous repair done over the years hence the different colours. None last more than a few months due the way they are filled.

Tarmac breaking up and weeds taking over., 30th August
On Highfields the tarmac is breaking up leaving potholes and exposing hard-core underneath. Local residents have started removing weeds which are unsightly but weeds will return if the road is not repaired. Could be very dangerous to cyclists or pedestrians crossing the road.

Rotten and slippery leaves right outside Hoylandswaine Primary School could do with a mini sweeper cleaning it up. It’s on a steep hill and very slippery.

Several potholes on a reasonably fast bend, no pictures because it is difficult to stop here. Tarmac is breaking up. About a 100yd section which would benefit from resurfacing.
