Continual Flooding at the bottom of Bonfire Hill road, 23rd February
Flooding from the fields either side of the road whenever it rains, which lasts for days at a time, renders the route from Barns Green to Southwater inaccessible. This causes lack of access to both motorists who, if they cross the flood can suffer breakdowns which many have. Also, no way can cyclists or pedestrians use this essential route from neighbouring areas. With no buses from Barns Green during the day except Tuesdays and Thursdays (very restricted service even on these days) and no route open via Tower Hill until May due to Worthing Road closure this flooding has to be dealt with as a matter of urgency. It is unacceptable for a public highway to continually be unusable especially in such a remote area. Southwater has the only regular bus route and this is the only way to get there or the Surgery and Chemist. It is 3 miles from Brooks Green to Southwater and takes at least an hour to walk there. Other routes are totally out of the question due to the distance involved. This problem has been continual whenever it rains for the last 2 years to my knowledge and only in the last month has is actually had flood signs put there.

Frequent flooding, 4th December
This road has started to flood each time it rains. It's only been an issue this winter. No previous problems experienced. Possibly linked to the drainage from the new Berkeley Homes development at the top of the hill. Please can it be fixed as it's the main route into Southwater from the northern villages.

Many potholes and damaged road surfaces all along Emms Lane, 20th October
The condition of most of the road is terrible and worsening by the month. Riding my bike is dangerous with many hazzards with passing traffic whilst I avoid potholes and subsiding road edges, from directly outside my house down the hill and up to and just beyond the railway going North. It is a very popular bike route and is also a school and public bus route. The whole road from end to end needs to be surveyed and prioritised as in need of repair.

Drains not coping with volume of water risk of flooding, 12th April
Every single drain on Plumtree Cross Lane were ejecting water which was flooding down the hill into Barns Green village endangering homes and businesses. This happens every time it rains so it would appear the drainage in that area cannot cope with current requirements.

Raised water valve cover in highway., 27th August
Metal water valve covers in road. Verge appears to have been worn back by large vehicles and local residents report that the verge has been diminished during resurfacing over the years. As cover is in road, the cover impacted the nearside rear tyre of my vehicle. This caused a tear in my tyre that rendered it beyond reinflating. We are now having to pay over £100 to replace my tyre. According to incidental information from residents this cover has been a problem for a long time.
