FIXMYSTREET IN RH12 3BE
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of RH12 3BE:
Resurfacing Lynwick Street Rudgwick, 26th February
Things have been bad in Lynwick Street for many years. The main excuse by the local and district Councils was the presence of Rudgwick Brickworks .We were told that the resurfacing of Lynwick Street will not be resurfaced until the Rudgwick Brickworks have closed. It was closed recently by the owners Harrison’s Farme after the statutory fillings had been fulfilled. This entailed tens of 40 ton trucks entering and leaving the Brickworks 51/2 days a week creating major potholes which meant holes were only temporarily repaired. The state of Lynwick Street now means that it is very difficult to drive on. There are so many ruts and potholes that only a closure of Lynwick Street and a total top to bottom resrfacing will stop the nightmare we residents and our visitors are suffering. We pay our rates and Council Tax and we have waited many years for work to begin soon. Regards Keith Mantle

Manhole cover sinking, 2nd January
The manhole cover at this location is sinking into the road.
Myself, and many other drivers I see, move across into the other lane in order to avoid it, which is clearly not ideal.

Pothole - manhole sinking into the road, 2nd January
The manhole cover at this bend in the road is sinking and can easily be caught by a car.
I recently had to replace my left front tyre due to an "egg" in the wall and I suspect it was catching this hole which caused the damage.

Tree blocking road heading west, 2nd January
I noticed this on my commute home, so couldn't grab a photo. A tree looked like it had been either blown by recent wind or caught by a vehicle and was now leaning heavily into the road. A car heading west would likely have to drive around it I suspect.

Large, dangerous potholes either side of the road -, 14th May
Where the road narrows slightly and crosses the water course, there is a very large pothole on the road heading towards Loxwood. Additionally there are also potholes at the same place heading towards Rudgwick. The Loxwood bound side is so deep as to make it dangerous to drive through and together they make the road so narrow, that only one vehicle can pass through at any one time. In order to drive through this area, vehicles from either direction have to drive down the middle of the road to avoid damage. It's been like this for some time now.

Sunken drain cover plates x5, 11th March
Along the downhill straight on the A281 there are about up to 5 spaced oblong metal drain covers. Over the past 2 months these have sunk by about 3cm resulting in a significant bump to the wheels. This is a 60mph limit road and at this speed the dropped covers are alarming when driven over.

Speed reduction signs covered by hedges and fading, 25th October
There is very little signage to tell drivers heading into Bucks Green on the A281 to slow from the 60mph speed limit to the 30mph. The two signs there are are partially covered by the hedges and fading so much that the red rings around them have all but disappeared. There have been 4 deaths on our roads in and around Rudgwick in a little over 12 months. Making sure these signs are clear (and ideally enforced) surely is a priority.
