Deep 40 inch pothole on the left side, on a blind bend, 4th April
The pothole has increased in size since the last rain. It is on the left side if travelling from Whitehouse Green to Sulhamstead Abbots and the only way to traverse the road is moving to the right. However, it is a narrow lane and right on a blind bend so is an accident waiting to happen, as it almost was this morning, when I met a large white van coming (quite safely and legitimately) round this bend. I was the one on the wrong side of the road but there was no way I could just drive over the pothole without damaging my car.

Potholes, 5th March
One pothole almost opposite the rectory is causing cars to swerve into oncoming traffic. There is another just outside of the 30 zone as you leave ufton to drive down to the A4. In addition to these two there are lots of very deep potholes on the opposite side of the road which need attention on this stretch. Cars are stopping abruptly to avoid hitting them when they are met by oncoming vehicles as two cars struggle to pass each other. These holes have been around for months now…. Please fix soon!

Lots of pothole along this stretch of road, 1st March
There must be around 10 potholes along this stretch of road now. It’s really bad when they fill with water after it rains as you can’t see them. Cars are driving in the middle of the road and then swerving last minute when they meet cars coming in the opposite direction.

Unavoidable pothole, 1st March
This pothole has developed into a deep hole now. It’s pretty much unavoidable if cars are giving way to traffic passing over the bridge. I hit it this evening. Time will tell if I need a new tire…

Massive pothole or loose drain cover, 23rd February
Yesterday evening at around 6.20pm I was driving in the dark/rain on this road around the Spring Inn on the A4 area, with a car in front when suddenly I felt a massive dip and associated jolt to the car which sounded and felt like a very big pothole or from the metal noise like a loose drain lid. It was impossible to see it in the dark and it’s a fast road. I was able to travel the short distance to my destination. However on the way home my tyre pressure warning light came on. In the daylight I can see that I have a bulge in the affected front passenger side tyre which and it needs to be replaced as a result of this incident. I’m not able to travel back to locate/ take a photo of this due to it being 25 mins away and I suspect my car might be unsafe to drive such a distance until the tyre is changed.

Pot hole is in middle of lane and hard to see at night. It is about 2 feet long and estimate 5 inches deep with sharp edge of iron work protruding. It would definitely unseat a motor bike user. It will/ has definitely damaged vehicles. The pothole has been there for at least 12 months. On this 60 mph road it is extremely dangerous.

Pothole deepening rapidly, 4th February
This pothole is getting bigger by the day due to the increase in traffic on this route. It’s just on the approach to a blind summit bridge, so is dangerous as cars try to avoid it without being aware of what is approaching them from the opposite direction.

Hedge and brambles encroaching on blind bend, 26th January
Since the recent storms the hedge/brambles at the side of the road on a blind bend seem to have been dislodged/moved into the very edge of the road making cars swerve around into oncoming cars. Now this road is being used by more cars due to aldermaston canal bridge being removed, this is becoming dangerous, especially during peak times.
