Overgrown Footpath, 21st August

Mon, 21 Aug 2023 17:49:08 +0100
51.463467 -1.222201

The footpath from Yattendon running to the south of Shockendon before following the M4 before joining the minor road to Frilsham Manor Farm is in a very poor state. It starts off with a rickety stile and following the edge of an enclosure with horses. An electric fence has been used to separate the path from the horses, but this leads to plenty of nettles covering the path. The next field is very overgrown resulting in a heavy going trudge, at least witrh a soft landing. The bit through the woods and through the field south of Shockendon is actually in a decent state. The final bit is the worst though, with nettles and brambles covering the path, getting worse and worse heading westwards. At one point with no route through as the path was completely blocked, it was a case of backtracking and finding a way through the trees to the north, climbing over a barbed wire fence before following the field edge. This is clearly not acceptable, I'm presuming this path is the responsibility of the local landowners, but there is no evidence of any attempt of any maintain the right of way. I don't go out for a walk to put up with this.

Extreme degradation of lane 3 two sections, 13th July

Thu, 13 Jul 2023 20:39:45 +0100
51.45874 -1.19215

There are two sections one after the other roughly near yattendon area eastbound after junction 13 and before 12 on the m4 and the other approaching the pangbourne area again severe degredation in lane 3 can't believe you've let it go this bad and feels dangerous going over it. it has been like it for months slowly getting worse with alot of the surface broken. i'm not exagerating. normally you have been very quick to maintain this section of the m4 usually overnight which has been brilliant. but this is not good.

TPO needed as tree felling may be commenced soon. Two excellent very mature oak trees need to be protected., 26th November

Thu, 26 Nov 2020 19:17:05 +0000
51.464369 -1.182503

The mature trees on this site were instructed to be retained as per planning permission in 1989. This was also incorporated in restrictive covenants in property deeds, where written permission was required from the transferor. This is designated AONB. A TPO is needed to reinforce the protection for these superb native trees. recent activity suggest that a resident plans to fell these trees.

Tree Preservation order needed immediately, 25th November

Wed, 25 Nov 2020 13:30:28 +0000
51.464369 -1.182503

There are two mature Oak trees in South Gardens, Burnt Hill that need a Tree Preservation order as they are under threat of being chopped down by one of the residents who complains about the leaves. In the restrictive covenant in the deeds for the property it states that no trees can be felled without permission (presumably from yourselves). Has there been a request for them to be felled? I have contacted Yattendon Estates who have advised me as we live in an AONB that they can be preserved. Please help!
