The front nearside spring snapped when I hit the pothole, 24th February

Sat, 24 Feb 2018 21:25:15 +0000
53.688536 -2.914499

My Audi A6 was damaged when I hit the pothole. The force was so bad the spring snapped. This is the third spring on my car which has snapped in the past year because of poor road surfaces in the area and this is the last I am willing to pay for. It cost me £220 to have it repaired. The mechanic said it had completely snapped. There was no rust to suggest it was worn. The damage was caused by the pothole. As can be seen on the photo the pothole is so deep the strengthening mesh under the surface is visible. I am claiming compensation for the damage caused to my car. I have the receipt for the spring repair. New Lane pace is full of quite deep potholes which drivers need to try to avoid. I cannot understand that one pothole has been repaired further along the road. Would it not be cost effective when a team is sent out to repair one pothole that they could repair the rest on the road to save more complaints and claims for compensation. I look forward to your early reply.

The tree's are along the footpath leading from charnleys lane to church road, they are blocking out sunlight, which is totally unacceptable, and during bad weather they sway so much they look like they are going to snap and fall over, there are also a couple of tree's over the back of charnleys lane, between the ditch and north meols medical centre, that need sorting, again because they are a nusance for blocking sunlight and again in high winds,if they are not delt with properly, it wil only be a matter of time before they actually come down on their own accord, someone could get hurt, or at the very least someone property would be damaged, i have phoned the council on numerous occasions, over the last couple of years, but don't seem to get anywhere,

Overhanging trees. Long Lane, Banks, 11th May

Wed, 11 May 2016 18:35:33 +0100
53.680312 -2.913927

There are a number of large overhanging trees on the road (Long Lane) that often cause deep scratches into our (and others) horsebox as this is frequently used road by ourselves. the trees have been there for a long time and have obviously been getting increasingly problematic as time passes. The horsebox is now quite badly damaged by these trees and they need cutting back severely.

Overgrown hedge blocking pathway, 16th August

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 20:19:20 +0100
53.680993 -2.933181

I regularly walk up Ralphs Wifes lane pushing a pram with my other young children. For the last few months I have noticed that the hedge is overgrowing into the pavement. Today, I had to push the pram onto the main road to get past the overgrown hedge as a bramble cut my daughters face as I tried to push through. We all ended up walking on the road.

Cones Obstructing Pavement, 26th June

Thu, 26 Jun 2014 12:14:57 +0100
53.6812832156758 -2.93312268786627

A resident keeps putting cones outside his house on the public pavement. This causes an obstruction for the disabled and people with pushchairs and is a health and safety trip hazard which the council would be held liable for if you knowingly allow this to continue. Someone could trip and fall into the road in the way of a moving vehicle. The land is council owned and not the property of the homeowner so the council would be liable for any accidents. The cones are on the pavement in front of the house adjacent to no 100 Ralph's Wifes Lane (not number 100 but I couldn't see the door number of the actual house) This started with him doing this when the Saturday car boot was on in the field next to his home but the cones have remained there now for months.

Road surface and safety in Bonds Lane, 4th October

Thu, 04 Oct 2012 13:00:22 +0100
53.682369336015 -2.9186540918423

Since last year when they replaced the gas main (due to problems with the amount of heavy traffic using this lane) the road surface has deteriorated to the point where surface water lies along the whole of the lane. The tarmac has eroded and lies in patches all over the road and the heavy traffic using this road for access to Georges Lane (HGV's and farm vehicles) are causing the road to subside. The pavements are covered in loose tarmac and cars (mainly care workers) visiting the residents of Bonds Lane are having to park on the pavements which stops pedestrians and residents using the safety of the pavements. If an alternative route for the heavy traffic could be found it would help considerably and there are bridle pathways which have been blocked but could be used for this traffic.
