Footpath is a torrent, 31st December

Thu, 31 Dec 2020 17:39:28 +0000
50.483924 -4.645377

Water from a stream is not channelled adequately and torrents down a steep footpath. There is no alternative route. Walking this in winter means miserable wet feet and is avoidable. The solution is simple enough but requires some excavation and culverting. The path is high priority so fixing this should also be high priority. Parish/path no./link no. : 508/32/1

Large Oil Stains, 5th December

Tue, 05 Dec 2017 16:51:46 +0000
50.482113 -4.612413

Towards the bottom of main road into Noels Meadow, there are quite a few oil stains caused by a resident car. These are large oil stains which in the wet are spreading all over the road. The issue began on Friday 01/12/17, the oil stains are becoming larger due to the resident continuing to park on the road, whilst the car is leaking oil. The road is a paved one with small bricks. Please see photos above. This is a new housing development and the road is not showing on the map provided. I have pin pointed as accurately as possible.

Severe rutting on the edges of the road and potholes., 11th February

Wed, 11 Feb 2015 10:03:29 +0000
50.50023 -4.619491

This road is narrow, frequented by heavy farm machinery and the margins have broken away in many places along its length (c 1.2 miles). Riders of PTW's are particularly at risk of losing control if entering these severe ruts, which is almost unavoidable due to the debris and mess deposited on the road surface by the afore-mentioned vehicles that makes using the centre of the carriageway impossible due to the hazard and lack of traction. The condition has existed for sometime, and while reported direct to the CC's surveyor, no remedial action has been taken to date.

Road Collapse/ Very Large Pothole making road impassable to many vehicles, 4th February

Tue, 04 Feb 2014 18:29:12 +0000
50.4785688332009 -4.62499642523956

This pothole has now effectively become a collapsed road. reported it in person to Cormac over a week ago. It is now 1900 mm x 1900 mm x 180mm deep. It has a soft clay/mud bottom and is full of water. The lane is so narrow at this point that there is only 1700mm of the lane remaining for vehicles to use without falling into it. It is also on a blind corner. It is still (just) passable using 4x4s and for cars of a width of 1.6m or less, (allowing 5cm safety margin each side), but very dangerous for other vehicles. This is the only access road for three dwelling houses and for two businesses. In one dwelling house reside two pensioners of very fragile health. One of the businesses, The Wool Company at Higher Hill Farm (www.thewoolcompany.co.uk) requires two postal and collections every weekday. Couriers are now beginning to refuse to deliver and collect from us, jeopardising our business, our jobs and our livelihoods so it is desperately important that it is repaired as soon as possible. Please can you address this as a matter of emergency as we are becoming very concerned about our business. Please feel free to contact me on my mobile [number removed, but sent to council] Thank you. Sincerely Harry mayman

A leat runs under the road and where it emeges the tarmac has collapsed and therefore the road has receded on this side by approx. 18 inches revealing a hole about 2 foot 6" deep and it should be noted that this part of the road is narrow and if 2 cars wish to pass one is going to go in it!
