Split Drainage Pipe, 18th January

Thu, 18 Jan 2024 10:30:31 +0000
50.238781 -4.789654

Hello, I work for southwest water. We are currently flushing the mains in gorran haven. During this flush we noticed a lot of water was appearing from underneath the tarmac in the direct access public footpath. We have tested for a burst main and unfortunately the issue appears to be with the drainage pipe. We have layed down some grit to help fight the water against the cold weather, hopefully that should reduce the chance of anyone injuring themselves on any potential ice. My number is 07876845814 if you wish to contact me.

The potholes start from the top of Bell Hill, Gorran Haven and run along the St Austell road through Gorran village until the right hand bend after the Old Gorran Vicarage. Many of these potholes are extremely and are on blind bends which force traffic out into the middle of the road causing severe collision risks

Massive dangerous potholes., 26th March

Wed, 26 Mar 2014 16:49:28 +0000
50.239161510242 -4.80082030960085

There are many, many large potholes which could damage the suspension of cars all along the road leading out of Gorran Haven. Namely going up Bell Hill, Highclere, Gorran Village and beyond. We have to try and swerve the car to avoid enormous potholes but because there are now so many it is becoming increasingly impossible to avoid the holes. These must prove a significant danger at night to motor cycles and pedal cycles as well whose riders' vision will be curtailed in the dark and only reliant on just two wheels for stability. Some remedial work needs to be carried out immediately. I have not submitted a photo because there are just too many potholes all in a very bad state.
