Cornwall Council report ref: W2047008, 26th August
Update on the W2047008 report: I have dug out and cleared the drain. The photos show: The blocked drain and pipe A mirror showing a cleared pipe and drain The overgrown 'gulley' into which this pipe discharges.
On 25th Aug. the landowner and I walked his field next to this gulley and we agreed that in order for the drain to function, two things must happen: 1. His side of the hedge must be cut as soon as permitted (i.e. 1st Sept.) to gain proper access to the gulley. 2. The gulley should be cleared. The landowner is Neil Cradick: his contact number is 01752 843257.

Road drain requiring bank removal, 23rd August
This drain is one of an important pair, situated either side of our house- The Old School Landulph PL12 6QQ. The other (containing BT's superfast cable in its pipe) has been dealt with well, following a combined effort between ourselves and Highways. In a recent downpour which did actually just flood the road- that drain coped very well and the flooding subsided quickly. Both drains serve large pipes and drainage systems put in many years ago by a local farmer and paid for by Highways. The one in the photo ('What 3 words position'- promises. deprives. trouser.) is blocked with leaves, etc. I will unblock it, as I think it's my responsibility to keep it clear, if I can.
Following the advice of one of your operatives, I'm requesting that Highways removes part of the bank adjacent to this drain, where necessary. At present, soil is diverting water away from this drain and preventing its primary function: i.e. Our 1st line of defence against flooding. Were this to be achieved- that would be brilliant. I'm aware that funds must be limited, at the moment. If you're unable to help at the right now, I might be able to persuade one of three local farmers to carry out the task, should you agree it.
