Surface damage and overgrown vegetation on byway NY13, 25th July
The width of the byway has been compromised by long term overgrowth of vegetation and this has led to a singular narrow track being used along much of the length of this beautiful byway. The development of this track has led to surface damage of the byway in this area including potholes. Restriction of the width of the byway excludes use by many sections of the public, including persons with disabilities and carriage drivers, and therefore denies many possible users access to leisure and recreation pursuits.

Hedges markedly overgrown on bridleway MF14, 25th July
The hedges at the junction of the bridleway MF14 with byway NY13 are very overgrown and make passage through very difficult.

Bridge overgrown by surface vegetation on bridleway MF14, 25th July
The bridge over the stream does not extend over the full width on the bridleway and so owing to the overgrowth of the vegetation the approach to the bridge is visually unclear. The bridge has no guide rails to ensure the safety of users or make the approach clear hence the overgrowth of vegetation means the whole situation could be extremely hazardous for some users of the RoW.

Overgrown vegetation on bridleway MF14, 25th July
Entire width of bridleway is almost impassably overgrown in places for any and all users. Boundary hedges are also out of control and overgrown. This is a between hedges RoW that is an asset to the RoW network and it is almost unusable at present.

No fingerpost off highway at byway/bridleway, 31st May
This cannot be noted as a problem with Rights of Way signage as FixMyStreet requires the location to be an existing sign - there is not one, that is the problem and the map does not acknowledge there should be one. A twin direction sign is required pointing one way to NK001 bridleway and the other way to NK002 byway. This was requested on item 3362704 and agreed to be fixed within 12 months of 11/3/22. 14months later there is still no sign.

Conflicting Signs- seasonal restriction to be removed, 31st May
A Permanent Order is in place banning Motor Vehicles and the front sign advises this. The rear sign is from a previous seasonal only order and should be removed to avoid confusion. This was previously asked for on reference 4372406 which just resulted in vegatation being trimmed so it could be seen better.

Seasonal restriction sign not removed in 2018, 29th March
A permanent motor vehicle restriction was put in place on 6 March 2018 and suitable signage has been erected. Prior to this a seasonal restriction was in place - the signage for this is mostly obscured by the hedge, but it needs removing to avoid confusion and give prominence to the signage for the Permanent Order.

Overgrown Bridleway - hazard to riders, 25th January
This needs cutting back as there is nasty blackthorn at riders’ face height. Photo of overgrown hedging, taken from the junction of Byway NY13 /MF15 on the Northants / Cambs border, looking northwards towards Bridleway MF14/ NY3, which leads to the Thurning / Clopton road.

Totally overgrown bridleway, 8th August
The Gibbet lane, running from Clopton through to Winwick end and the bridle path to Thurning is totally overgrown. It is dangerous and a fire hazard to all in the vicinity. Also rabbit holes everywhere! The farmers can’t access it to mow or hedge cut as the gates are locked. It is a trip hazard, and a hazard for many who ride horses/bikes or walk down it.

No Waymarking leaving the road, 4th March
There is no green finger sign at the start of this RoW as it leaves the road. The first part is along a farm track which has fencing suggesting it should be private, and the signs say so, even though they do acknowledge the RoW. This post is on behalf of Hemington, Luddington and Thurning Parish Council who believe that a Finger post for NK1 (and indeed NK2 in the opposite direction) is required.

Very large fallen tree, 3rd November
A very large fallen tree is blocking Gibbet Lane. Tree completely blocks the track, impassable even to pedestrians. Tree is located very near the point where another bridleway joins Gibbet Lane on the north side. (No picture, as I was riding my horse.) Remainder of track between fallen tree and Winwick Road is also very overgrown and requires significant cutting back on both sides of the track.
