Blocked drain causes road flooding, 19th February
The drain is a soakaway at the roadside opposite Gypsy Lane but a few metres towards Hemington. The tree in the photi will position it. This has been a problem for some time and various efforts to fix it have failed. With the rain volumes in recent months, the problem is more acute.

Street sweeper left debris on road - unsafe for cyclists, 16th February
Street sweeper came on 13th Feb but left long line of debris on road, including gravel. This is particularly unsafe for cyclists and stones are being thrown up by passing cars.

Potholes (various), 18th December
Potholes outside Rectory Farm Cottage leading up to Hemmington Lodge road, vary in size and depth, approx. 8 in total. Resident who lives at Rectory Farm cottage will not leave the property to go out in their car due to the condition of the road, feels unsafe.

RoW Bridleway NK-1 obstructed by surface vegetation, 19th July
Surface of Bridleway Luddington NK-1 needs clearance. Grass and perennial weeds are 2-3 feet tall over majority of bridleway at Gt Gidding/Luddington end. Passage is possible only by using crop edge in places. Issue also reported to Parish Council.

On the bend as the road starts to turn right & the drain cover is broken and it's sticking out. Concrete has been crushed and pushed up metal framework. Very dangerous.

Our Inspector has identified a Rights of Way defect at this location and has issued a works ticket to repair under the Sign/Waymarking - Damaged/Missing category. We aim to complete this work within the next 28 days.

Public footpath impassable, 8th July
This footpath is impassable due to overgrown vegetation obscuring the rutted patch. It is dangerous because someone could turn their ankle or fall over. Additionally the gate from Barnwell manor estates land to Longbrook farm land is overgrown with brambles, and there are brambles all up the bank on the other side of the gate. The path on Longbrook Farm also seems to have moved. It used to run alongside the brook, then a bridge over to the other side then up to the spinney which exits on the Thurning to Winwick Road. This footpath is almost impassable in Winter due to deep rutting alongside the lake which floods and makes navigating the footpath safely a real problem. Barnwell Manor Estates have signs up at the entry to the footpath on the Luddington end, telling people to stick to the public footpath and yet the footpath is not safely navigable at the moment and needs to be cleared. This is always a problem in the summer months.
