Opposite Hareby Hill, 12th February
Chronic erosion by water flowing fast from both Hareby and Horncastle Hill. I have been unable to capture the extent of the damage either by photo or video but your team have been out recently and will probably know what I am talking about. At a couple of points the bank is in danger of imminent collapse and drivers are already perilously close to the edge. It is essential that someone comes to look at this and I am happy to meet them there.
This will require an engineering solution as if you simply build the bank up it will send the water down the road. The bank really requires shuttering for a distance of several hundred yards. The road is close to being undercut. Local residents who have lived here a long time say that the problem is worsening with every heavy downpour. That is certainly borne out by my recent experience.

North side of Horncastle Hill on last bend before entering Old Bolingbroke, 8th February
The ditch was cleared a little while ago by landowner but picture 1 shows a build up of water today as it cannot all pass through the culvert. The overflow comes down the hill, eroding the tarmac on both sides. The first drain it comes to is blocked and sticking up (only noticed this today) it continues to flow on both sides of the road. The 2 drains on the north side cope with some of this excess. The south side has no drains until the one at the Lilacs which is permanently blocked even after the flushing in October. The next one outside Burnside cannot cope with the volume of water. The excess crosses Hagnaby Rd and a small drain by the sub-station cannot cope. The excess flows down Hag Rd into and eroding an already collapsing bank which was not part of the recent works. Ongoing problem which some people say is like driving through a river on a day like today.

Opposite Castle House in Hagnaby Rd, 5th February
The bank of the ditch is failing due to undercutting by the water that then leads to collapse as shown in the photos. In a couple of places you can see that the tractor tyre marks are within inches of the ditch. An accident waiting to happen. I pointed them out to the guys working on the power cable protection today, Monday 5th February 2024, It really does need looking at
