Street gulleys need cleaning and gutters, 21st October
I reported this on the 19.09.23 as the rain water runs down the street to outside my house , I have managed to clean some soil out of the one outside my house , the highways truck came last Thursday and sat in the van for an hour, didn’t clean anything and then drove away . He had another van with him who the driver sat behind his vehicle for the same amount of time , then got out , put his trainers on and then drove off . We had immense rain yesterday and I think this is unacceptable and these workers are lazy . Discraceful. Need sacking , Station Avenue Murrow , the gutters haven’t been cleaned for about 2 years .

Barhale, 25th October
I see from the local information notices that this firm is due to return for more sewerage instalations. I would like reassurance from the highways department that they will not be allowed to get away with creating the mess that happened last time and this time the road and verges will be reinstated to highway standard and that any damage they cause will be rectified by them and not me the ratepayer as happened last time.

Numerous potholes, 8th June
There are numerous potholes in this lane from High Road to Plash Drove. They are now 5 months old. Any chance of repair before next winter?

Verges, 17th May
After all the expense of having parts of Back Road resurfaced but failing to install verge markers the edges of the new surface are already starting to be eroded. The verges were never put back the way they were before Barhale arrived. Heavy plant and continuous use of verges as passing points is only making it worse. I have e mailed Cambs highways directly but never even got a response about it or any of my other questions.

Road flooding, 29th March
Road floods opposite my property every time it rains to a depth of 4 to6 inches completly across the width of the road and across my driveway making it impossible to enter my drive without navigating through thi depth of water. plus speeding traffic bow waves throw water up my driveway making it impssible to leave acar on the drive

Drain "Higher" than the road, 23rd March
The drains on this part of the road are higher than the road so that when it rains all of the surface/rain water runs straight down our drive and into next doors. We pay all our council tax etc and we think that our request to rectify the problem is reasonable.

Enormous Pothole-Damaged Car, 23rd March
Last night whilst returning home I was driving along Plash Drove, Tholomas Drove, Nr. Wisbech Saint Mary, Cambridgeshire, heading North East, travelling at about 30mph when there was an enourmous bang, the steering wheel was nearly wrenched from my hands and the car lurched to the left. When I got home I found damage to my nearside tyre and there are metallic clunking noises coming from the nearside suspension/ steering-the appropriate authority can expect a bill for repairs as when I returned this morning I found that what I hit was a pothole 600mm wide, 940mm long and 85mm deep. The pothole is opposite the entrance to the property known as Barley Mill, 52.63442deg N 0.06417deg E. The appropriate authority would do well to drive the roads in the area as they are littered with similar shockers!

Verges, Drainage, Potholes, 21st February
Picture shows appalling state of road between Back and Front Roads. Water does not drain away, verges have been driven over by heavy plant.

Resurfacing, 10th February
It's a pity the section of road linking Front and Back roads at the Murrow Bank end was not resurfaced. The suface is badly cracked and has pot holes and due to the verges having been badly damaged by heavy vehicles over recent months, the road no longer meets the verges and there are permanent puddles down virtually the whole length of both sides. The drain on one side has been rendered useless as it is higher than the residual water so it never drains away. It's a shame the council had the verge marker posts removed as the remedial work done by Barhale has been destroyed.

Pot holes, 21st February
Potholes on edge of road heding out of Murrow also potholes on the other side forcing drivers into oncoming traffic.

Resurfacing, 28th January
At long last Back Road has been resurfaced. And a decent looking job has been done by Cambs highways, not just a spray over, well done. All we need now are the verge markers and road sign-age to be put back and it will look better than before Barhale destroyed it.

Resurfacing Back Rd Murrow, 28th January
Congratulations to Neil Band and the contractors who have resurfaced Back Rd, Murrow, the work was carried out quietly and to a good standard, the contractors were polite and very pleasant. What a change from Barhale who were just the opposite and caused all the problems in the first place.
