Pot holes along this road have been repeatedly reported for many weeks now and are just getting bigger and more dangerous . There are more and more forming on a weekly basis and the road is now unsafe for use due to having to mount grass verge to avoid the pot holes … what is it going to take to have these repaired as a matter of urgency . They span from Grange Farm to Camp Farm and there are many many large ones

Station Street Rippingale, 5th April

There are a number of drains in Station Street which are blocked when there is heavy rain as seen in the phots causing large pools of water on the highway. This has been occurring for a number of years and it is clear the culvert under Station Street needs clearing of silt etc. This has been reported before but LCC have abrogated responsibility to Anglian Water. However AW maintain this a rainwater culvert which LCC maintains not a foulwater drain. Cllr Martin Hill LCC maintains that Rippingale Parish Council reports this to you for rectification please.

By 155 Station Street Rippingale, 5th April

Fri, 05 Apr 2024 21:04:29 +0100
52.839312 -0.361594

The drain which takes surface water off the highway is blocked by root growth (I have been in the adjacent ditch and seen this.) during heavy rain the surface water congregates in deep pools outside 155 Station Street. This on 2 Jan 24 resulted in 155 Station Street being flooded downstairs and white goods and floor covering written off. This deep pooling is also a serious hazard to traffic. This blockage was previously reported to LCC who initially stated action would be taken but then this was withdrawn. For what reason is not clear? I was told by Cllr Martin Hill LCC to report such blockages for clearance action with you as there were serious implications for residents. Therefore I request this drain is unblocked.

The street light has gone out and this has made the small road very dangerous to walk along. There are no footpaths in the village or other lights nearby to help see where you are going. Would be most grateful if this could be fixed.

The grass verge beyond our boundary hedge was in pristine condition prior to Openreach (via Morrison Telecom Services) laying cable within the village. A trench was dug by a small digger and the compacting of earth on completion was totally inadequate. They continually parked vehicles on the grass and driving on and off.

I have previously reported the lack of drainage along Fen Road and the issues this is causing . Whenever it rains the water accumulates quickly on the road due to it having nowhere to go , as there are so many potholes (reported separately) along this road they fill up also and it makes it impossible to see the holes resulting in punctures to tyres as the pot holes are very large . This I understand is a rural location and the farm vehicles will leave mud on the road but large amounts of mud are being left , mixed with the lack of drainage and the surface water and then the pot hole issue this road is in a very poor state which I feel Is not safe to drive on . My home is currently on the market and the poor condition of the road is deterring potential buyers

I have reported pot holes along this road weeks ago now and still no action , however there are now more large pot holes along the same stretch of road that are becoming very hazardous to drivers . We have experienced 2no. punctures since reporting these and would now request they be dealt with urgently , having to mount the grass verge to avoid the holes is unacceptable. I also have my property on the market and this is deterring potential buyers , they have commented on the ‘poor state’ of the road .

The nine inch underground plastic pipe that connects the ditch to the chamber by the road side appears to be blocked. District council do not believe it is their responsibility, nor does the land owner. Please can you arrange for a jetting team to clear this. Many thanks.

When there is heavy rainfall the sewers are overwhelmed and water cascades down Station Street. Waste bubbles out of this drain and runs down the street and is exacerbated by other blocked drains. The Street now has toilet paper and human waste, as can be seen in the images. Which is a health hazard to humans and animals. 74 station street the willows care home culvert, 19th February

Mon, 19 Feb 2024 17:59:49 +0000
52.839768 -0.368348

The Lower station street in Rippingale was flooded again on the 8th of Feb. The street became to a shallow river and the water was 6 inch high right across the road and it was reached to my property-110 station street. I believe some water did get into our play room. It’s not safe for my children as my little one can’t swim. The water was obstructed and over flowed from the culvert in front the Willows care home as the trash screen was blocked by soil, branches and debris. Our engineers checked the culvert and Advised the silts is more than 50%. The flood is man made and it is avoidable if the trash screen be regularly cleared and the culvert be regularly maintained by my council. I am looking forward to hearing your update and solution.

Although a drain is marked on the map there is no drain in the road at all. It may have been covered by roadworks? So when water cascades down the Dovecot to Station St in the heavy rain it cannot drain into the drainage system and adds to a severe surface water problem in heavy rain
