My young niece spotted two dead birds hanging from the Scots pine next to the St Andrew's Crescent road sign near the Ptarmigan Guest House today. I am assuming these are rooks - they have been nesting here.
I know they can be loud and annoying but there must be a less gruesome way of dealing with them.

Snow / ice clearing & gritting, 5th February
Town and secondary roads are now sometimes left for days before clearing or making them safe. The whole town is suffering from this problem including the school area.
