It’s on the bend of the northbound side of the Crick Rd, just prior to the entry to Ted Barn Farm, so it is not visible until right on top of it. Particularly lethal for those on two wheels, but also dangerous larger vehicles too.

Misleading highway sign, 17th October
There are misleading and incorrect 'private' signs at both ends of the UCR. Presumably the landowner has erected them to confuse and misleading the public. The UCR is a public highway even though it looks like its across crop land. Please can the council ask the landowner to remove these and desist in erecting them. This is not the first time this has been reported to the council.

Illegal traffic sign, 19th October
I rode along USRN 47304700 Upper House Lane Shirenewton last weekend and was surprised to see there are still 'private road' signs at both ends. These are surely illegal signs as the road is a public highway maintained at public expense. Please can you arrange for them to be removed as they intimidate road users into thinking this it is private when it is not. I would say that since the weekend I have had confirmation from Monmouthshire County Council Highways department that this is a public road and that there are no traffic restrictions on it.

Poor visibility, 20th September
There is limited visibility for pedestrians emerging from the public footpath from Shirenewton school onto Ditch Hill Lane at Coxe’s Well. The overgrown hedge prevents an adequate sight line for seeing traffic coming from the centre of the village.

No grit in bin at Hall, 24th January
There is no grit in the yellow grit bin in the car park at Shirenewton Community Hall. This facility is used daily by members of the public as well as young people attending the playgroup at the hall, and therefore needs to be filled for their safety.

A large amount of litter, 11th January
From Budgens through to Mynyddbach -some 3 miles- on the B4235 there is wayside litter. The most amount is from Bishop’s Barnets Wood/ Great Barnet’s Wood side of the highway. It then gets bad on the straight from Great Barnets Wood into the first corner on the right hand side. The litter is blowing into the fields. Could this be cleaned please. As it’s a 60mph road it’s too dangerous for residents to attempt to clear it.

Blocked drain - water freezing, 13th February
There is a blocked drain on the west side of the road from which water flows after rainfall. This then freezes in sub zero conditions causing hazardous driving conditions on the steep hill. The water enters the drainage system at the top of the hill from the adjacent field.

Public footpath gate obstructed, 31st December
The gate to the public footpath leading off the private access road to the Home Farm Court development has broken. The gap has been filled with a non opening farm gate tied with baler twine to the posts. This unstable arrangement has to be climbed over to gain access to the public footpath.

Broken grit bin, 11th September
The grit bin at the bottom of Weyloed Lane has no lid (long since broken off due to deterioration) and is full of water. When the salt/grit is drier used by local felines as their toilet. Unhygienic to use. Has been there many years and needs replacing due to bottom surfaces now breaking away

Overgrown hedge obstructing pavement, 11th September
The hedge is overgrown and brambles are encroaching onto the public footpath. On Friday 9 September at 9am I drove passed to see a young mum with a pushchair entangled in the brambles, trying to release herself and the pram from the brambles. There is no pavement on the other side of the road. This route is used by primary school children and parents on their way to and from school. Hedge allowed to grow since last year.
