Pothole reopening just as you cross the bridge just before you approach the A697., 8th April
Pothole reopening, has been fixed many times, but is now reopening. It is just as you go over the bridge, towards the A697.

New pothole in recently patched carriageway repair, 5th April
Marked by an orange cone in the verge, half-way up the hill, there is a patch of recently repaired tarmac that has opened up again on the south side (offside wheel hits it heading downhill). The repair, spanning the entire carriageway, has a poor finish (perhaps whacked with the back of a shovel rather than rolled smooth). With this first new pothole opening up it does not bode well for the rest of it. It will only get worse. It would be great if this could be repaired properly, rather than patched, as the gradient here is about 1:8, with a 60 mph limit. It takes hard braking once the pothole is visible, and even at slower speed is hard on the tyres and suspension. A few weeks ago a car was crippled at this same point by potholes.

Wicked pothole, 28th February
Suspension-jarring, tyre-cutting pothole, with degradation of carriageway across the crown of the road, also, which makes the pothole difficult to avoid. A cyclist hitting the pothole would likely end up on the ground, with a buckled wheel.

Pot hole, 26th February
Pot hole is now right across both sides of road and very dangerous. Just witness a van pop his tyre and chunks of tarmac flying out meaning its now even bigger. Something needs to be done so many cars I've seen come off and having to be recovered.

Numerous large potholes and rutts in the road, 25th February
Pothole damaged at last 2 vehicles I'm aware of last night (24/02/24) It has damaged my alloy wheel and split my tyre. Had to be recovered by AA who has provided a report and I have contacted insurance@northumberland.gov.uk
