Multiple potholes, 17th April
Full length of road from Leamington lane to over grass is riddled with deep potholes and eroded road surface. This is an ongoing issue, the road has been patched very poorly in the past and lasts hardly any time at all until it gets back to a worse condition than before it was patched.Photos attached don't really reflect the appalling condition the road is in.

Urgent action required for the discarding of used catheter bags, 24th March
I have today litter picked right along the Alnwick Fords road, from Longframlington to Newton on the Moor, and not for the first time I have removed used catheter bags discarded into the vergeside. I have collected no less than 14 of these said material, that are a gross health hazard. I have photographed some of the bags within the black sack to show that they all have the product name of “Hollister”…something has to seriously be done to bring the perpetrator of this heinous crime to account.

Large signs obscuring drivers view, 19th March
There are two very large signs that have been placed at the entrance / exit to Percy Wood Caravan Park which are obscuring the view of the road. Drivers exiting will have limited visibility and this is a school route. With the approach of holiday periods the volume of traffic will increase the risk of an accident occurring.

Discarded urinary drainage bags, 1st March
Two of our residents have been making tremendous efforts to clean up our local roads. Over the last few days they have collected no less than 13 full black bin bags of litter down the stretch of A697 from Longframlington to Weldon Bridge on Saturday…then another 8 bags on Sunday along the Felton to Longframlington road, via Old Swarland…then a further 3 bags collected along the Alnwick Fords road. During their litter picking along the Alnwick Fords road. From the dog-leg bend and up the incline toward Leamington Lane, they came across three discarded urinary drainage bags, complete with piping, on the verge side. They didn’t feel it safe to pick up this potentially dangerous and heinous material. Please can this be removed as soon as possible

Numerous potholes full of water, 14th February
These potholes have been here for years It is impossible to give the number but in excess of 100 along stretch of road from the corner that turns up to Swarland to Newton on the Moor. The horse box’s for the equestrian centre are so wide they push cars to the side. Into ruts and ditch’s that are unsafe. An accident waiting to happen for the cyclist and the horse riders a whole stretch of some 200 yards needs to be examined in depth. It is so dangerous that cars can get stuck by just being pushed to the edge and there is a loss on both sides of the road of probably 3 feet due to car drivers having to drive in the middle of the road to avoid this area. It is unbelievable that nothing has been done about it over a considerable length of time despite the council showing off in the newspaper today that they are on top of the pot hole problem . The ironic thing is that it is just passed an area. I flagged up a few years ago where the roadside was filled with gravel to stop cars losing their wheels in the ditches. Something needs to be actioned immediately to avoid accidents how your inspectors have not seen this and done something about it is beyond me, if you travel along, now, you will see by simply counting the number of holes with watering how bad it is

Several pothole which are expanding significantly, 10th February
This is now my third report regarding the same issues and there has been no action by NCC or even the curtesy of an update or an acknowledgment.
This issue regarding 3 large potholes was first reported in early December 2023. All of the potholes have not increased in size and depth, one now being a third of the width of the road.
I pay near Ł300 per month in council tax, and NCC won't event acknowledge my report. Why have an online portal if you are just going to ignore it?
NCC can find the funds for lavish Christmas lights in Morpeth Town Centre and men in red suites and top hats in Sandersons Arcade, but can find the funds to fix dangerous pot holes.
Please can someone at NCC at least have the curtesy to acknowledge my report.

Three pot holes, 31st January
This problem was originally reported in December 23. The three pot holes are getting bigger, and deeper, rapidly. It's a matter of time until someone's vehicle is damaged, or someone falls, as this road has heavy foot fall from walkers. Members of the local community, including myself, feel that our reports to the council regarding this problem are being ignored.
