Blocked pipe causing gulley to overflow, 22nd January
Storm water is running out of this gulley and spreading onto the road, presenting an ice risk as wide as the entire carriageway whenever there is a frost. It appears that the pipe downstream of the gulley is blocked and flows entering from the upstream side overtop the gulley instead of continuing downstream.

Blocked culvert on Coal Road, Gunnerton, 17th December
Runoff from adjacent ploughed fields is carried by roadside ditches down to the Gunnerton Burn. At one point, the ditch is culverted under the Coal Road, and this culvert is blocked. Usually, regalar blockages of leaves, sticks, gravel and stones can be easily removed, but this feels more like a collapse of what is probably an ancient iron pipe.
Even when is not raining, continuing runoff from the fields arriving at this blockage and runs down the carriageway, as seen in the attached photos.
The next time it freezes, the road will be coated with black ice, potentially lethal to vehicles and pedestrians.
