Flytipping behind the wall at Parking bay, 30th March
Behind the wall at the parking bay on the A68, opposite the pole DP 7, is a load of rubbish obviously chucked out of cars when parked in the parking bay. There is even a nappy! The field is full of sheep and soon there will be inquisitive lambs as well. It’s been a problem for a long time but is now getting ridiculous when nappies are getting thrown out. Why can’t the council provide bins at parking bays?

Missing signpost for bridleway, 12th March
At the point indicated there should be a finger post showing BW 514/022 going through a gate from a minor road U 5098. This bridleway is hard to find as the UCR does not look like a public road. It should be added to the definitive map as a BOAT and signed as such from where it leaves the road that passes through East Woodburn.

3 Blocked drains on A68 Foundary Yard to Low House, 4th January
All 3 drains on A68 between Foundary Yard and Low House in Ridsdale are blocked and have been all winter. When it rains heavily the volume of water coming down the hill is too great for the clear drains at the bottom of the hill to cope with and the road floods across both sides. Several vehicles have been stuck in flood water this year.

In Ridsdale some work to the carriageway has removed part of the 40mph roundel on the A68. Could this be repainted please?

Flooding of highway from blocked cundys resulting in flooding of property further down the lane, 8th November
Flood water during recent wet weather is running off land at Townhead (East Woodburn Kennels) onto the road. This is due to several blocked land drains. Water is travelling through drystone walls and down the road resulting in flooding of property closer to the village. Discussions with the land owner confirm that at least two land drains are blocked and need to be cleared to prevent this from re occurring. I have video footage of the two main areas where water is escaping through the walls. One is marked on the map the other is further up the lane adjacent to the sheep pens. There are two areas of concern and two underground cundys that are blocked. Several landowners will need to be contacted to enable this work to be done.

The ditch desperately needs clearing, 29th October
The ditch is blocked, and obviously hasn't been cleared and maintained for years. It is making the road like a river. I have reported this to the Parish Council who have referred it to yourselves. It has been weeks now and there is no news about it being done. It really needs to be given an urgent priority

Road flooded worsened over the week very deep causing damage to cars URGENT, 27th October
Road from Bellingham to Redesmouth just after the farm before Redesmouth Cottages the road was flooded last week - drain needs cleared as during rainfall this week it has worsened over the last few days again covers both sides of highway and deep this morning someones under carriage of car been ripped off due to deep water- Please come and clear drains or you'll have claims for car damage
