Concern expressed about the condition of the road from the A69 up Wellbank, particularly in the recent bad weather the water has been going down the bank onto the A69. I would be grateful if all the gullies could be cleaned out as a matter of urgency and if the ditches could again be attended to.

Drains are full of silt, 12th April
The drains along this stretch of road are completely blocked so the surface water is just pouring down the road to the bridge. Should we get temperatures below zero, this road will be lethal. The drains are so backed up with silt, it’s almost impossible to determine where the drain is! Additionally, the surface water is wearing the edges of the roadway making deep trenches which could cause vehicle damage.

Open container of what looks like waste oil and a strong smell of diesel, 26th March
Blue VW scirocco had been parked up for a week, broken down due to cross contamination of engine fluids. The car belongs to Mr Adrian Bach of 14 Tow House Green. He was working on it last night between 8pm and 10pm with his father and a mechanic from Haltwhistle called Craig Batey. There is cctv cameras on the village hall and one of them looks directly down the car park to the area where the car was parked.

In my opinion the 100ft tree opposite my house is dangerous as it has been allowed to grow so tall and this type of tree has shallow roots, therefore it could be blown over onto my property., 25th March

Collapsed drain threatening road surface and gate, 23rd February
The road side drain at the main museum entrance to Vindolanda has collapsed and is starting to take the road surface with it. If not tackled it will block access to the museum and heavily damage the road which is relied upon by the 54 staff to get to work and emergency services to access the site and museum. Thank you .

Fallen Tree blocks RoW, 22nd February
A very large fallen tree is blocking path 523/047 just south of Vindolanda. This is a well used footpath being on a tourism route from Bardon Mill Station to the Roman Wall. The tree is very large, and can only be negotiated (unsafely) by scrambling through the branches. Note: There is a concern that the Vindolanda Trust have in the past attempted to deter use of the path by posting notices suggesting that it is "difficult" and this raises concern that they may be tardy in removing the obstruction (the has fallen across the path from their land). Note: NCC invested in the path by providing a boardwalk about four years ago.

Several large potholes on approach to bridge, 6th February
The potholes have been filled before, several times and are just patched up. Cylists and drivers are hitting the deep holes as they are full of water. A cyclist hit one of the holes several years ago and sustained a head injury. We are on a registered cycle route. Heavy vehicles use the bridge constantly.
