ZoomLocal Neighbourhood ReportNEIGHBOURHOOD REPORT

The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of NW8 6JJ:

There are at least 2 loose/unsafe paving stones on the pavement outside Nos 21/23 and some broken/unsake paving stones outside Nos 25/27 Victoria Road NW6 6SX,. The latter have been enveloped in protective green hard plastic barriers for well over a year now. Both of these are dandersous hazards to pedestrians on this road, particularly to 2 blind persons who regularly have to vavigate their way past them as well as mothers with children in buggies, quite apart from all regular pedestrians. I understand this has been reported to you but that you have done nothing about it. This has been going on for far too long. These are dangerous hazards which could cause serious injury. Will you please take steps to repair these loose/broken/seriously faulty paving stones as soon as possible. I am nor able to supply the photos you request. Yours sincerely, Alasdair Black (15a Victoria Road), 23rd May

These two items have been in our front garden for more than a week. The recycling collection team wonít take the large box, probably due to its size.

Traffic lights poorly sequenced, 16th May

Thu, 16 May 2019 07:59:00 +0100
51.522645 -0.160014

These traffic lights were recently changed alongside the revised traffic routing. They stay on red for longer than necessary with the road being clear, resulting in pedestrians getting impatient and crossing regardless. Iíve now seen at least two near-accidents when cars suddenly appear unexpectedly. The lights need to be changed to be green more frequently, in line with the traffic flow.

Right turn traffic light confusing, 8th May

Wed, 08 May 2019 11:54:36 +0100
51.525648 -0.178047

I live near this intersection and there is constant beeping of horns at all times of the day and night due to drivers trying to tell the first car that the lights are green to turn right. Travelling north along the A5 (Maida Vale) there is a right turn to St John's Wood Road operated on traffic lights. There are different combinations of traffic lights at this junction: Ahead only, Right Turn only and both . A Green arrow shows the right turn, however this is placed at the actual front of where the cars wait to turn right , so the first car waiting to turn right cannot see it. The light directly in front of the first car in the queue waiting to turn right does not show a right turn green arrow so to the driver at the front of the queue it looks like the traffic lights are red. The Red light is for the cars wanting to go straight ahead on the A5, there is a green right turn arrow being displayed but the first driver in the queue cannot see it as it is directly above them. This means all of the cars in the queue waiting to turn right start beeping their horns to tell the car at the front of the queue to go. The front car, of course, often ignores the beeping as they can only see a red light ahead of them. This just causes more anger and beeping from all the cars behind as they get increasingly frustrated that they are stuck behind a car that is not moving. It is very annoying and is disturbing my sleep and the peace of hte neighbourhood. It is not the drivers fault at the front of the queue as they cannot see the green right arrow, It is confusing traffic light signs that are not clear as to when traffic can turn right. PLEASE, PLEASE can you fix? All it needs is for the traffic light that is ahead of the first car in the queue to turn right to be one that shows a green right turn arrow and ahead arrow that can be alternated. Thank you

Q2 seems to turn right at a 'No Right Turn' junction..., 3rd May

Fri, 03 May 2019 18:04:21 +0100
51.51732 -0.168923

The carriageway markings here indicate that Cycle Quietway Q2 is supposed to turn right off Sussex Gardens into Norfolk Cresent. However this traffic light junction is clearly signed with 'No Right Turn', and there's no 'except cyclists' or similar sign. Very confusing (and means cyclists following Q2 would be committing an offence under the Road Traffic Act, which I doubt is what you want)... Conversely, approaching the same junction from Norfolk Crescent, there's a 'No Entry' sign with no 'Except Cyclists' notice.

Regular rubbish dumping spot, 28th April

This isn't all St George's Cathedral's rubbish but some of it definitely is. They used to leave their rubbish by the tree on their side of the road which isn't much better. Now they're dumping it here & Im fed up with it. Do you have a rubbish collection arrangement with them? Do they pay? Could you also investigate the black bin bags to see if there's ID? Thanks

Following previous repair, manhole cover making noise again when driven over, 19th April

Fri, 19 Apr 2019 21:28:49 +0100
51.537503 -0.175559

A manhole cover outside Lyndhurst Court building on Finchley road is making noise when driven over. It was repaired less than 2 months ago, by covering it over with tarmac. However, this fix was clearly only temporary, because now it's making noise again, under the tarmac, and it's getting louder by the day, causing sleep disruption. It's particularly loud when driven over by buses, and given that it's in the bus lane, this happens a lot, both day and night.
