Rope Strung Across Road, 31st May

Fri, 31 May 2019 18:41:09 +0100
52.869912 -4.678631

Drove along this road to park at Porth Colman car park and explore the beach. On the way down there, just by the houses at Morfa, someone had strung orange rope fully across the road. The rope was tied to a sign post on one side of the road and weighted down by a rock on the verge of the other side, meaning the rope was about waist height all across the width of the road. We removed the rope when we went down the road to park first of all but when we drove back up again it had been strung out across the road in the same way as before. We fully removed the rope this time and disposed of it responsibly. As the rope was positioned just after a bend, on a road that leads to several campsites, holiday cottages, farms, cafe and beaches, it presented a danger to anyone using the road if they didn't manage to spot it in time. Clearly, someone doesn't like people using the road despite many public facilities being found along it. I have no doubt another rope will soon be strung up in the same location to replace the one we removed.
