Tarmac section missing/unfinished, 21st March
There’s a large square uneven section of road on the A6003 in Uppingham just at the end of Leamington Terrace. It’s got spray painted arrows around it so may already be on a list somewhere or it may be left over from a previous repair.

One way system in Market Place, 11th March
There is an increasing ongoing problem with drivers entering the Market Place incorrectly, and driving out incorrectly. There is a One Way sign near The Falcon for traffic comming out of the Market Place, but it seems to have little imoact. The same with traffic entering the Market Place. Perhaps better signage and a No Entry sing might help before there is an accident

Double yellow lines missing, 7th March
The original length double yellow lines are missing either side of the entrance to the Uppingham Sports Centre following the repairs to the road. The absence of double yellow lines is allowing cars to park on the main road near the entrance and causing cars to cross into the oncoming lane which is further complicated by the proximity to the junction of Lime Tree Avenue.

Cars parking on the verges around the school, 6th March
Every afternoon cars park on the verge opposite the school and all the way down to Lyddington. Despite numerous efforts to stop them the problem continues to get worse. This is really dangerous. We have witnessed car accidents, angry shouting and we fear it is only a matter of time before a student is injured. There are various large buses and people doing 3 point turns in the street. The whole situation is an accident waiting to happen.

There is a pothole in the middle of the road at the pedestrian crossing on Ayston Rd Market Place and the School, 23rd February
I was crossing the road st the pedestrian crossing with my husband when my foot caught in a large pothole in the middle of the road which of course I did not see as I was looking ahead. I don’t normally walk in this part of Upoingham. I fell heavily to the ground, twisting my ankle, grazing my knee and hands and wrenching my back. I was unable to get up and my husband couldn’t get me up on his own as j was in great pain. A motorist waiting at the traffic lights left his car to come over and help my husband get me back on my feet and out of the road as meanwhile the lights had changed. This occurred on Monday 19 Feb at about 1 o clock lunchtime. I have been suffering since with my painful ankle and back. This damaged road surface needs urgent repair as pedestrians cross here all the time and it is extremely dangerous to have such an uneven surface where people cross the road.

Blocked drain near the head of Wood Lane which is public bridleway not on private land, 19th February
This blocked drain was reported fairly recently by a neighbour. It was supposedly dealt with by the Council's contractor. In fact the drain which was cleared was on the opposite side of the road to Wood Lane so the problem remains. Discharge from two houses sewage treatment systems (legitimately I think because one is a sewage treatment plant and the other is a reed bed system) are fed into this drain so at times, when families are all at home, there are quantities of overflow from this drain which then flows down the bridleway.

Full deep ditches represent public safety hazard, 18th February
Since the Elms housing development was built the ditches on Leicester Road fill & overflow regularly with heavy rain. The ditches are deep and could present a safety concern for the public - children playing on the edge have been witnessed. The overfilling water covers up the deep curbs which could be an issue for cyclist & cars.
